My power steering resivoir cap exploded!?!?!

ok so i just finished my auto to manual swap... and now i have ps fluid shooting out of the cap on the resivoir.

more crap...

the cap stays on but whenever i move the wheel it is hard and fluid shoots out of the cap.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is is possible to have crossed the high and low pressure lines from the pump?

no, i didn't do anything to them

Did you remove the PS belt? Any chance it's not routed right, and driving the pump in the wrong direction? Haven't heard this one before.

how much, it sounds like there is pressure escaping to it, and its not designed to hold pressure

also, make sure you didnt overfill it

well, i know i didn't overfill it, so what would make pressure escape into it? that is what i think it might be doing.
