Yeah, next time use NGK. That wouldn't be the first time I've seen Denso's electrode blow up in an SR...although Tomei uses them in their engines...

i changed them today and so far so good tho. hope nothing happened to the motor. last time i used those ngk iridium plug and my car ran like ****. im kinda leery on spendin 60 bucks for the stock plugs. im going to figure out a good set for my car tho. im still wondering where the rest of those plugs went...prob part of my piston but hopefully got shot out with the exshust.

Use a small vacuum cleaner to try to suck up those particles. The blown off metal shards can knick up your bores pretty good.

no to mention out the exhaust on a turbo car means it went through your turbine.

My rb20 when i had it use to do that alot and yeh it goes through the turbine but i ate through about 5 plugs in my rb20 and it never damaged the turbine after i took it off to inspect it. Anyway that would be caused by predetonation. What amount of boost were you running on what octane gas? That looks like some SERIOUS predetonation so i would be careful cause to get a spark plug hot enough to cause that means your engine can be suffering. Also you need to run colder plugs... like a 7 or 8 i guess... if those are 5's then thats WAY to hot for that engine if your running above stock boost... Look into it ASAP!!

Looks like your running lean and it's going bang instead of burning. check your A/F and get colder plugs 6 street 7/8 racing

im running heat range 6. i thought i would hear the detionation. im boostin 10-12 on 91 with octane boost. im going to go with a 7 next time but i had to get the 6's again cuz no place has the 7's in stock and i need to get to work....just no racin for awhile. i dont think it helped me when the car overheated a bit. lucky for me a got my kick *** rad and fan. got up 2 3/4 to the h and qhen i stopped boostin it came down FAST. first time i over heated since i got the new rad. i think it happened cuz the overflow had evaperated away. when i checked it when i got home it was empty. so tomorrow im bleeding the cooling system to get rid of any air bubbles. but after changin the plugs its going good again....ill just keep my eye on the plugs for awhile till i get back from my trip and can order the new plugs. oh...and i didnt think bout the turbine....i think i might wanna check that out too. thanks for the insight....never hurts to check.

Timing is off, or you have a fuel issue.
