I think that its worth 20 bucks to pull a carfax and find the previous owner.. Or the mechanic they used.. So I can send a hitman over..you DO NOT treat a car like this, especially a Q .. damn ...

First the tacky stick on fake wood trim, then the vacumn line replacement that was wrong sized AND made to fit with zip ties. (multiple locations) The random missing bolts on a few brackets that hold harnesses.. The denso plugs.. I found all that before I hurt my shoulder.. Now with a friends help (hes my arms now) We were looking at a few other items..

Heres the kicker.. I found a few "Repairs" they did that I believe re totally unnaceptable and dangerous.. Upon rotor inspection I found that they are seriously.. Paper thin on the inside, and thick on the outside.. The caliper slides were NOT greased and hung.. Ordered new rear rotors from bullitandy (thanks again man). How could you do that? with the brakes??

The most serious was the creaking sound when going over bumps.. Never in my life have I had a car with a suspension bolt that magically loosened.. But this one was finger tight. I was bouncing the back of the car with my tiny korean friend underneath the back, and he says stop. 2 seconds later I hear the sound of him spinning a nut off a bolt. He slides out from under the car and hands to me a nut, the on that goes right here..

the nut on the inside front upper link..

it was FINGER tight... Why on earth?? I guess im lucky to have found it.. Tight now, and the squeak is gone..

And yes - My friend checked EVERYTHING bolt he could get to under the back of the car with his digital tq. wrench.. He was playing. Damn this shoulder injury I wanted to play too.. I wonder what else ill find as time progresses

Ouch! That kind of abuse isn't unheard-of with old G50s - I'm a bit surprised to see it on a 1999 Q45.

I'm beginning to understand that lux-car owners don't take care of their vehicles - they jus' dump 'em after 4 years and the next owner runs them into the ground.

the next owner runs them into the ground.

Just prior to the massive explosion they are resold [to #3] for $1500 and then the fun begins.

But not underneath, we can presume.

Why even new cars should be sold on racks.

I looked underneath. Its spotless.. Seriously, I changed the plugs and didnt even get dirty.. Same with the oil change, transmission flush and pcv replacement.. its spotless..Problems were Just the rear rotors, a loose bolt (made creaking sounds) - the random y33 missfire at idle gremlin and seeping valve cover gaskets..

It drives perfect, and returned 20mpg on my last tank.

Cushy soft and luxurious when I want it, and a terror on the road when I push the TCS and Sport buttons..

I love the car, and its not as bad as I made it sound. Its just such a nice vehicle to let things like that go wrong without repairing immediately (Like I do) .. Hell, theres no excuse to half *** maintain ANY vehicle.. Thats why im mad.. You shouldnt have a car you dont take care of.

PS - I got it for under 9k with 123k on the clock - and believe me.. The car is in immaculate shape other than the problems listed above.

Sounds like she's a lucky beast to have you looking after her now. At least these are fairly simple issues to fix.

Thank you, I am doing my best to treat it like it should be treated.
