so to get right into it i was driving doing about 40mph and there was a newer saab infront of me some fat ***** was driving she misses her turn and slams on her brakes and WHAM i do 40 right into the back of a stopped car sweet i get out go ask if shes ok she already on the phone with the cops and she starts giving me all kinds of dirty looks..

30 min later cop finally shows i get pinned with the wreck of coarse he sais she has the right to stop or slow down anyway she wants...ok sure i leave after that

i get home start checking out the damage bumpers toast hood folded up and is toast the metal that hold the headlight motors is bent in so they wont close or open w/o some help but least there stuck open right now radiator is also destroyed..

its really irritating since i got the car only last friday so a week and 1 day ago .

she left skid marks from were she slammed on the breaks i showed the cop he was like it doesnt matter.

i wasnt hurt unfotunentally my girlfriend was in the car has a pretty soar shoulder but she will be ok.

in the pictures you can see the support for the radiator is all pushed in also the radiator is shoved under the intake. so now the intake wont sit all the way down. the front bumper the damage is above the right blinker there is a hole in it now and the bracket that bolt to the car on top are bent. so the front bumper might be salvagable. the hood....speaks for itself lights will open and close with the help of a crow bar.

fixable just makes me want to cry when i look at it:sad:

BUT if anyone has a front bumper or hood possibly a radiator they could donate or sell to me cheap that would be great please let me know ASAP

That law applies here also in California. The cops in California also embrace the idea that if you rear end someone, no matter what the cause was, you are at fault.

That's really disappointing; getting a ticket because the driver in front of you was careless.

Well best of luck getting your front end back together.

Your fault, no matter what the situation was.

You should have either been paying more attention or not following as close as you were.

There is no excuse to hit a person from behind, it doesn't matter about her skidmarks because if you were a good driver you would have been paying attention at a safe enough distance to be able to brake properly to avoid collison.

Hopefully you have learned something from this.

On the plus side, it looks fixable and is definately not totaled.

EDIT: He didn't get a ticket because the driver in front of him was clueless, he got a ticket because either he was following too close and/or not paying attention.

EDIT: i didnt get a ticket at all

and also i left plenty of room but when your going downhill and your breaks lock up its a little different specially when the person infront of you slams on there breaks it freaks you out a lil so you hit yours bad combo

listen to this guy^^^^^ the guys all bummed about his car and this guy has the nerve to tell him off like a jack@$$. true you probably should nt have been so close that you couldnt avoid collision but sometimes you happen to hit a little water or some road gravel and there really isnt anything you can do. just ignore this guy. he probaly is the dude who wont puul onto a road at all unless there isnt a car within 5 miles.

Well that's good you didn't get a ticket, that definately helps.

If you got a ticket that would be like adding insult to your already obvious injury of a broken car.

EDIT to driftnslide:

I drive my car just like everyone else, albeit maybe a little more aggressively because that's what living in Boston does to you. The one thing I make sure of when I am driving is that I allow more than enough room between me and the driver in front of me so that even if I hit a patch of water I will have ample room to slow down. The trick to this is that you can't allow so much room that cars will pull out in front of you, so you have to hit that "butter" zone in the middle.

That's horrible man. It's not too bad at all though for a 40mph crash though, you got lucky.

I agree with Nismo350z though, always keep your distance from anyone you are following man. Try to treat every other car on the street as if they're out to get you.

ah that sucks man, but I agree w/ you how dumb asses just slam on their brakes...I mean you have to draw the line somewhere, when she leg pressed her brake pedal and the car squealed to a violent stop cuz she missed the del taco drive through(fat ***** right?) then it's her fault she got rear ended.

It sucks that it's "automatically" your fault but all you can do is expect the worst and give yourself a lot of distance...I don't trust people worth a damn

God forbid I ever have a kid like you rear end me then tell me it's my fault.

Ignorance is bliss.

^mmmkay, let me slam on the brakes right in front of you when you are cruising at 75mph on the freeway. I don't care if you give enough distance, there are gonna be some times where you are ****ed if the guy in front of you slams on his brakes when you are not at all expecting it, like that lady.

i seriously hate women drivers. stereotypes exist for a reason. i was backing into a parking spot when some dumb b*tch thought she was slick enough to pass behind me when i was moving. cost me a new paint job for my bumpers but for her i hit both her doors on the side so hopefully cost her more than that. i dont think she claimed thru my insurance prob. cause she realized later how stupid it was for her to try to get by some1 who was trying to park into a spot.

yeah i don't know what's with most women drivers, they are just nutcases. One time I had a chick tailgating me around campus where the speed limit is like 25mph then I stopped for some students crossing and I hear tires squealing behind me, luckily I didn't get rear ended but it did piss me off. <That's when I believe the person rear-ending is at fault due to tailgating or not paying attention..it's just when people slam on their brakes and come to a stop/slow in moving traffic and almost cause a 5 car pileup is what is ridiculous imo.

^^^^ this is exactly why i allways drive wherever me and my gf are going somewhere. SHe scares me to death with her behind the wheel. I have to tell her what to do. Plus her living and commuting in ucdavis doesn't make it even better. Kids on bikers are allways getting hit and run over by dumb drivers who drive wrecklessy the fat ***** the op said.

woman drivers = the fail. ...seriously.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AXLzyiI7CE

i get extremely nervous sometimes when my gf is driving. she tried merging when a car was in the lane next to her already...wtf?! god knows i love her tho:)

op, your car is totally saveable, you def got lucky with the no ticket + repairable car. it sucks to wait for so long for the car you want then get into an accident shortly after, appreciation will definatly go up after this repair. good luck with your car dude.

so so so sooooo sad, terrible that fat bishez who cant even turn their heads because they are so fat miss their stop and then blame their mistake on the ones they harm. i personally think that law is a bunch of bull$hit and everything that happened should have been taken into consideration. she should have gotten a ticket

btw i caught this pic of her 5 mins after she left the scene

dear god......... are we going to go over this again? I see just as many idiot drives that are male as female.........

just because one stupid woman could not drive, does not attribute to ALL WOMEN cant drive. Else women should be prepared for

"all men"

premature ejectulationbeating their partnerhow about all the male serial killers.....

"setereo types are there for a reason"shell we start throwing to some racist or maybe age related ones too?

god knows "240sx are only good for drifting " right?
