... All I see is excessive camber in the front.. what is the problem? You should be able to buff that out.

Kidding. that sucks man :-\

Yeah tie rod is gone, possibly upper control arm. Hopefully thats it. Then just the body parts. Hopefully I get a good check from State Farm since I have full coverage.

your coilover might be bent too... after my wreck a couple years back my upper camber plate was slightly bent... nothing a vise and some muscle couldnt fix though.

Well I looked from inside the engine bay and nothing is pushed in. The rad support seems shifted a bit over, but nothing major. The camber plate looks fine from the top, and the coilover seemed ok from what I could see. I havent really had much of a chance to look at it and dont want to take anything off yet, insurance hasnt checked it out yet.

Love that car man...same color and year as mine.I say maybe a slight pull on the frame machine,a fender, tie rod, corner light, couple big swings of the hammer, maybe some adjusting of the hinges or a door, control arm, ball joint, tie rod inner and outer, possibly a sway bar link and shes back to new.

Keep us updated on the repairs.

Sorry to see bud!

Make sure you get it put on a rack to see if all the body points line up... it's easy for that not to be visible and if it's not fixed it'll never drive the same

Keeping the fingers crossed that it's all covered for you!

Well I talked to the insurance and I have a new dilema. If I get the car repaired under coverage, it will be considered totalled most likely. Thats due to the costs for repair being more than the value of the vehicle. Now That would mean I would have to buy my car back from the insurance. Or I can fix it myself, with my money. What should I do?

Oh, and i meant lower control arm, not upper haha.

see how much the insurance will give you, or if they total-lost it; must buy it back; that's easy an easy fix, it doesnt look like frame damage at all.that's definately fixable; time for wide fenders;check out the classified section they part out s14 all the time.

that does suck tho, because now you will have a salvaged title.... But it shouldn't be very much to buy it back from them. See what they are offering to give you.

Yeah the title will be salvaged now But yeah I am going to see how much I can get, and how much to buy it back. Then maybe do a kouki front, or just do a quick fix and put it how it is. I am possibly going to buy the 95 240sx in CO that has rear end damage and use the front parts. So far, looks like I need the door, fender, and align the bumper and lights again. Maybe pull the rad support over a bit. Then just the control arm, tie rod and whatever else is bent/broken. The rim was not damaged i think, so thats good.

i would just buy it back and pull your motor and everything you want and take the rest of you money and go find another 240sx and reinstall your motor harness etc. cause with the frame damage and salvage title your car is going to be harder to sell if you ever wanted too

I agree with hxc_nismo

Once your car goes salvage title, its going to be really really hard to sell it. Doesn't matter if you have crazy hp rb26 in it, its going to be a ***** to sell. Listen to hxc, engine is wired for s14 chassis. Go buy a cheap s14 shell or cheap s14 and swap her over. GL!

I doubt it has frame damage, but yeah the salvage title will suck. But I plan on keeping this car till it blows up lol. I will part out if I ever sell.

Use any excess insurance money, after buying it back and making repairs, to start another 240..lol Try a rb25 or rb26 in a convertible, but keep this one for your daily drifting...hehe

It's always good to have more than one ride!!

Who was at fault? If he was not only is his personal insurance responsible but, the pizza place he was working for at the time.

who the **** delivers pizza in a ram? what a retard, i got into the same situation before, insurance offered 800 bucks for the car, or to give me 600 for the repiars on my own. It was a winter beater 240 so i didnt really care, i took the 600 and sold the beater for 800 to some guy. theres always some one out there that would still buy it, jsut takes a lill more effort to sell

Yeah I'm gonna see what I can work out with the insurance. If they say its total-loss, I am going to see how much they will give me to fix it myself.

yeah the body damage is just on the door, fender is totalled, and some to the front bumper. I could still use the same bumper and lights though.

Hey man, about a year ago now I was hit in practically the same place and had some negative camber on the same wheel, not quite as bad as yours but still. Another difference is, is that I have a 90 fastback and so the value determined by the insurance company was even lower. I got lucky since I only have liability and the girl who hit me payed for the whole thing...but, it was a battle with the company because they wanted to total it and I argued that since my car had only about 90 some odd thousand miles at the time and the paint was in near perfect condition that the same car in equal condition could not be found for the measly $2300 or so they were trying to give me. Especially anywhere near Montana. Anyways, I won the battle and they fixed MY car and I got to keep my baby! So from my experience I would use about the same argument in your situation because of the condition your car seems to be in! Just my thoughts...anyways, here is a pic of what happened with my wreck-->

OK, so the claim agent from the insurance came to look at the car and see whats damaged. Well, its not a tie rod, or control arm. Its my friggin Stance coilover Its broken, and my wheel is bent/cracked from where it hit the strut. So yeah, that sucks. Also he put down that it might need some time on the frame machine. The good thing is, he put that my car is in excellent conditionl. He didnt beleive that my interior was all original haha. He was even amazed at how clean the body was. And for my tires he put 0% tread wear. So I need to find receipts for everything I can now.
