The pickup struck my Altima (which was parked on side of road).Pickup flipped over once before landing on its side. Altima went airborne into a tree before coming to rest ~90 feet away in neighbors yard. The kid who was driving the pickup was fine, and was hauled away in the back of the police car. Meh

What caused all of this? Drunk driver?
Nah, I was alseep at the time. I heard a huge bang and looked out the window and didn't see the Altima. I ran outside, saw the pickup on its side, ran to check on the driver, he was crawling out of the cab. I asked him if he was okay, he mumbled something, I asked him again he said yeah. Thats when I saw the Altima behind the truck. It is looking like he was under the influence. Kid lived right down the street too. The kid is fine, the EMT's took a look at him, barely had a scratch.

Good body man will buff that right out.

On a serious note, I'm glad weren't in the car and that you're ok. Make sure you find every receipt you can for everything you've done to that car. The insurance company will offer you book but they have to pay you for anything you can prove you had invested into the car.

Holy crap! The Altima got pwnd! That's crazy that the guy driving the truck didn't get hurt. Not surprised though. Somehow it's always the people who deserve to get hurt walk away without a scratch.

Yup. Seen it more than once. It makes me sick to see a guy drunk or high as all hell, sitting on the curb perfectly fine. The only thing wrong with him is that his pulse is racing and he's breathing super fast, and he has a bit of a headache. Meanwhile, I'm doing CPR on a 15 year old girl who has a shattered pelvis, and a broken femur. Should be the complete opposite, but somehow it never is.

I thought that was because when the person is all cracked out, they sort of "rag doll it". :gotme

I measured today from the impact zone to where it came to rest and it was 75 feet so it was a little shorter than I thought. Granted it did slide some distance over the grass. The kid driving was 17 and drunk. This happened about 3AM. He first side swiped my neighbors car before slamming into mine. That chunk missing from the tree is eye level ~5.5 feet high. Part of that tree I spotted wedged between the exhaust and the bumper. So yeah it freaking flew. Part of my yard and the neighbors yard are completely wrecked and the cleaning pipe for the sewer was broken when my car hit it so they are going to have to dig up his yard and replace it. I am still finding parts and pieces all over today. How that kid walked away with barely a scratch is amazing. He lives right down the road too.

His parents must be sooo proud... That is some real automotive carnage there. I hope your claim goes well.

Haha, yeah it is. It is hard to describe the moment when I realized the Altima wasn't in front of the house. I first thought it was stolen, but then seeing all the carnage and my demolished car in my neighbors yard. It was quite a moment. The first words out of my mouth when I saw it were "oh s***" and then something along the lines of blah 911 blah. If the claim goes well, I guess I have to get a new car :chuckle:

With out a doubt at the moment of impact he had to be going 50mph if not more. It looks also that while drunk, he possibly passed out and his foot got stuck on the accelerator. I There were no tire marks at all to indicate he braked. Another amazing thing is that the blue car parked 15-20 feet in front of mine didn't get a scratch on it. The during the flip, the truck managed to go over top of the rear of the car and completely miss it. Crazy stuff.
