I guess this is something I should have checked out, but I have a pretty new phone and I guess I just assumed that bluetooth should be able to work with bluetooth. No one at the dealership told me that this could be an issue (that only certain phones were compatible). I have had my phone for less than 3 months and was really looking forward to using this feature. What now? Buy a new phone? Such a PITA.

I've never used Bluetooth, but I thought Bluetooth was Bluetooth. Didn't matter which phone as long as it used the technology But I know nothing about it.

You need to check and see what Bluetooth profile your phone has and what profile the Versa supports. Once you find that, then you will need to find a phone that supports the bluetooth profile that the versa uses.

You're going to want to get an iPhone in June anyways. So no worries.

Hopefully people will be able to buy one. Cisco's battling pretty hard with their trademark infringement suits.

I thought they agreed to let Apple use the name and they will use the name as well. One more thing to confuse Cingular......I mean AT&T.......I mean the New AT&T.....i think that's what they're calling them selves now? Oh well.

Verizon version of Motorola RAZR is compatible with my Versa bluetooth, and as of today with upgrade of OS X, also bluetooth compatible with the address book/iSync on my Mac. Check with your phone service- they may know of software patches that will make your phone compatible with the car.

I am quite surprised that a bluetooth phone doesn't work.

In the good ol' days, Ericsson (now SonyEricsson) and Nokia had the most compatible bluetooth implementations, as they were the charter members of the Bluetooth SIG. Now the technology is mature and the implementation should not matter as much as in the past. FWIW, my 2003 vintage SonyEricsson T610 works perfectly.

I had severe issues getting my SE to pair with a moto headset, I assume that it's a similar problem here. I got a logitech and no worries.

I don't know what to say about getting it to work with the car though

What phone do you have? If there is a way to make it work somebody on this board will be able to figure it out! And if not, I'm sure they'll have multiple suggestions as to a phone you should get in its place. (Other than the iPhone... although, is there really another viable option? Didn't think so.)

Good news, even though my phone wasn't on the list at nissanusa/bluetooth (which is why I thought that it wasn't compatible), I got it working. It was the weirdest thing. I tried it once (before I posted) with no luck and then tried it one time after my brother told me that the bluetooth list is not always all inclusive, and it connected right away. I used it all afternoon and evening and it worked great! I have a SonyEricsson w300i, by the way.

Don't you love that phone? That's the one I'm using right now. After the z500a, I was sold on sony ericsson, and they just keep getting better.

Glad to know it does work

I DO love the phone - that's another reason I was so upset - either get a new phone that I may not like as much, or don't use the bluetooth that I paid for. I'm really glad things ended up working out.

Try going to this link http://www.nissanusa.com/bluetooth/ and use the LG phone set up even tho it does not say "Chocolate" because most companies use the same set up for the different style of phone.Hopes it works for you.

My LG works, I don't have the chocolate but I'm sure yours is fine too, it's really easy to set up and I love it, except when a good song is on the radio and someone calls.

There should be some more phones in that list - the list just hasn't been updated...The list that is in the nissanusa.com just shows the phones that are fully compatible with all the functions of the Nissan bluetooth system; however, even though the phone is not in the list, I think the basic functionality will still work, like making and receiving simple phone calls. If the phone is not in the list, that is because the engineers found some "not-so-common" functions that are not compatible with Nissan bluetooth... worst case scenario when the phone is not Nissan approved is that the sound quality is horrible...

I had a Treo too and would also have to restart the phone or just turn the screen on and off to get it to work. Had enough of it and got a Samsung M500 instead. Works like a charm Though the problems with the Treo aren't Versa-related... the bluetooth stack on the Treo is as awful as it gets.

Just for those who are interested, the new LG enV works great with the Versa.

I'm such a macphile... (ha, macphile isn't in my mac's dictionary.. ADD) anyway, I'd love an iPhone... only one problem... IT USES CINGULAR/ATT... which sucks hard core... I mean, Cingular may have the "biggest network" and all, but when I was a customer, their service sucked... (wow, is this off topic?) so I'm torn... really cool phone with an awesome voicemail solution and Cingurlar's craptastic service... or my SK3 and good ol' reliable T-Mo...

I have the red razor. V3m I believe...the first time I "paired" the phone it worked just fine! it rang through the speakers and everything. now when my phone rings I have to dig around in my purse then open it and hit the talk button..THEN the car takes over and it comes through the speakers. I went to the dealership and asked them to help me. we deleted my phone and started all over. it worked while I was there. after I left of course it didn't work anymore. I tried deleting my phone then paired it up again...still doesn't work! any one have any suggestions?

I've noticed (and so have people on the Edmund's CarSpace forum) that the 'super phones' tend to have problems with Bluetooth in general and the Bluetooth needs to be restarted occasionally...

Blackberry, SK, Treo... and I'd wager that the spiffy Motos wouldn't be any different... I don't attribute it to the car since the same thing happens to my Jabra if it hasn't been repaired or my bluetooth hasn't been refreshed in awhile. Just a thought. (another thought)

I am having an issue getting my phone paired up too. It is not on the nissanusa.com/bluetooth site (my old phone is) but I don't think it should matter. Like someone said earlier - bluetooth is bluetooth. I am trying to pair a SE 810i. Once I enter the '1234' code my phone just says it is connecting and it never leaves that screen - I eventually have to just turn it off. Same goes for the car. It just displays 'TELEPHONE' and no buttons I hit seem to be able to exit out so I just have to turn the car off.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Well, first thing I would try is get a friend with a bluetooth phone to try pairing theirs, to make sure the BT radio in the car is even functional. Sounds like there may be a problem or malfunction with one of the devices.
