I took a trip out to Boston about a week ago and after being on the highway for 10 minutes, my temperature started climbing. I had it on cruise at 60mph at 2000rpm. I had to ride the rest of the trip with the heat blasting to keep the temp down. This problem did not go away.

Inspect your radiator cap according to this TSB and replace with a new OEM one if necessary.

Is the coolant level in the overflow reservoir between MIN and MAX? Is the coolant in the radiator up to the cap neck (check cold of course)? What is the coolant maintenance history for your Pathfinder?

i'm not near my truck at the moment, but off the top off my head... The coolant level was a little more that half full(reservoir). When the truck was given to me by my father, I did a regular tune-up and noticed that the radiator was bone dry and was full of brown sludge. I have to say I ran water threw it about 10 times to get as much as possible out. Then I replaced the radiator. I didn't have any temperature issue for over a year and half, well until now. The only other noticeable issue with my truck is that the rpm's are "flaring". I have seen a few threads on this issue which did not had a solution.
