Feedback would definitely be appreciated and if you guys have painted OEM rims that you want to show off or just want the world to see, please post. I would love to see other peoples work. So...what you guys think?

P.S. I have no painting experience nor have i done this before.

^ I'm with him about painting stockers, but from the pic I can already tell that I hate it. But to each his own.

The 7 spokes are the only stockers that can pass being painted another color, imo.

They don't look that bad to me, I agree though we should see them on the car to get a real idea. I thought about painting my s14 teardrops (4 lug curse) but don't think they will look right. I keep them clean though lol

i think it looks good. the teardrops stock are ugly as f*ck, i think those NEED to be painted if you're gonna use em. the 7 spoke on the other hand are beautiful stock, those should NEVER be painted, they always end up lookin worse. but you did a good job on yours, although the quality of the pic aint perfect. but from what i can see, good job.

Haha heres my POSI had a black S13 that I put the s14 rims on before, this is just a crap drift car so I don't care that it looks funky. (also yes, I'm putting 5 lug on the rear soon enough...after I roast these 4 lug tires!)

Oh, and as far as feedback goes, paint is cheap and it takes really no time to paint rims the right way (unless they've got a clearcoat on em) So if you are short on bucks, wanna change up the look of your car, and have a spray can, I say go for it! Post up some pics of them on the car!(Oh, and the lip looks kinda wavy, take some paint remover and a cloth, then carefully wipe the high spots till it looks even)

off topic but, why do so many people have that "shocker" sticker on cars other than rx-7's. it's an rx-7 club but yet i see that sticker on so many cars. just like how there's this kid in a riced out old honda hatch around here drivin around with a Heavy throttle sticker. wtf man, i dont get it. rep your own s***

I know it's ghetto, but it's always fun when you work on something that's going to go on your car. I bought the teardrops for $50 and they had some curb damage (hence the reason why I gave it a "lip") I was going to paint them all black. I just finished painting the second rim today, hopefully I finish the other two soon. I don't make a lot of money otherwise I would have bought some SSRs or something, but like I said work is fun. The wavy lip came out that way because I'm using 1/2 inch 3M blue masking tape which is really difficult to create a nice even lip. I like to be creative which is me. I'll be putting some used tires hopefully tomorrow or thursday to show you guys what they look like on the 240, in the meantime more feedback/pictures of other painted stockers would be nice =]

I agree.

It would've been less ugly if the lip wasn't 'polished'.

haha oh man i knew that was coming.

I don't like the stock wheels painted, they just look better clean. Like adrian said it gives it the 'i like my car but i can't afford wheels at the moment' look. Painted wheels just give it the 'whatever i have this car lying around and this paint, viola-insta rice'Heh J/k

I keeps mine clean though:

^^How wide are your 7 spokes? and how wide are your teardrops. My spokes are like 195 and the tears drops are like 215. Switch em out. wide in back.

I had a full set of teardrops and traded them out but got two back painted black and I think It looks good. I want to see the black with lip on the car tho.

I love teardrops. I want like 3sets. different colors. Gun metal, black, lime, polished etc.

Just a thought I might mess with. Black with multi colored tears. Or white/or just cleaned up with green tears.

I'm not to sure why many diss the painted stocks. There's nothing wrong with them, it's just looking for another look. It's very hypacritical if you ask me for those who have painted cars with a different color other than the original or those who have painted their VC but hate the painted rims. It's just being creative and I'm sure that many of the 240 owners probably dont make more than $500 every two weeks to buy some decent wheels. I getting paid minimum and I barely have enough to put gas in it. There's nothing ricey about it anyways, body kits are (well most of them). Well, I just put tires on the two wheels and I have them on the front. For some reason it reminds me of a corvette with those rims. It's looks pretty nice from an angle. I'll post some pictures later today since I haven't uploaded any pics yet.

Sometimes less is more. In my opinion.

Painting them makes them stand out more. If I had teardrops, I wouldn't want them to attract attention.

Again, just my opinion.

Is it just me or are your stocks flush with the body? What are you running to get that? I'm broke as $*&^ too and kinda like my stock SE wheels so I'm just keeping 'em clean and polished. But I really want a wider, flushed look...

A little off topic, I know, but a little help please...

Anyway, back on topic. OP I like 'em. Different is always nice. But subtle, will keep the flamers away

That why I ask, are all se spokes the same?

Me and steveo were talking about how some can clear brake bigger and other can't because of how the rear of the wheel is shaped, some have more material removed then others. Does anyone have se spokes that are 215 or at least wider than 195?

Kinfer, are they on the car yet?
