Well....today my Q45 left Miami for with its new owner behind the wheel and a 1,300 mile trip ahead of it. I will at times miss it a lot....like right now but I know it will be in good hands here in the NICO family. We had a good time last night partying here in South Beach and trading car stories back and forth. It left with a trunk literally packed with a tons of extra parts that I have collected over the years so maybe some of them will come up for sale here on NICO shortly after they go through all the parts. Also are all the receipts and info on the car for record keeping as well. I am sure the new owner will enjoy the beasty Q a lot and have some good friendly street races to report back. Thanks all for your support over the past 2~3 years as if it was not for NICO and somebody telling me that I could easily build a low 14sec Q45 (I fell for that myth big time) it would have been traded-in the Q a long time ago. While I never did reach the goal of a sub 14sec ET I still think it is possible but you had better go to to church and do some serious praying along with having all the stars aligned correctly...not to mention so serious $$$ to get the performance parts needed.

Cheers to all and best wishes with your Q's (whether stock or highly modified although I prefer modified)

I am very happy that it is staying within the NICO family as if anything should ever happen to it (accident) then I know its parts will be put to good usage keeping other Q's on the road.

Old Owner (Me)

New Owner (Nico dude)

Going.....

Going....

Gone.....

dude...that is the funniest damn thing I have ever heard about somebody lurking around a forum and not owning any wheels.

Who knows...maybe one day I will be back behind the wheel again of another Q45 or M45. At least I am still a Nissan owner.

Wow, Rob! The end of an era. If I knew you were selling your Q, I would had made a trip to Miami. I guess I'll only get to check out the Vette. Dont be a stranger.

Rob, thanks for all the fun I had reading your posts on mods, heartaches, glorys, and victories.

I am sure you will be back.

If you are ever in the Corvette Forum, look me up. I am "IDriveC5". I spend all my time in the C5 General forum.

It is hard to build relationships on that forum, there are about 5,000 posts a day just in the C5 General forum. I post a thread, then check the next day, and it is on page 3!

yeah...I know exactly what you mean about the 5,000+ posts a day on the corvette forum. Very hard to establish any level of friendship. Something NICO and the Q45 community will always have. A very tight group that seems more like a close neighborhood community vs. some random scattered disfunctional neighborhood.

First, let me say THANKS to Rob for his hospitality, not to mention the transaction .

Now for some specs ...

Well, I and the Q made it <whew> that was a long ride.

~1268 miles~71 gallons~17.5 mpg~18 hrs (total including stops a& 2 BAD traffic jams)~70.5 mph

If you do the math, it seems nearly impossible to avg that kind of speed ... but it's not .

I'll get pics of both Q's setting side by side int he next week or so. Right now, I'm resting

Hey Rex....glad to hear you had a safe trip back to Ohio. That had to be a tiresome drive. Just curious....are the figures corrected for the 4.08 gear (15%)? I know before the 4.08 I was getting right at 19~20mpg on the highway so your 17.5mpg should be about right if it is already corrected 15% for the 4.08 gear. It was at least a year ago since I took a trip in the Q (before the 4.08) where I could drive 300+ miles on the interstate to get my true highway mpg. I never bothered to measure mpg after the 4.08 as I was always on the throttle a little to hard to get any meaningful numbers with my shorter trips. Eitherway...I guess the figures are not too bad considering you had an extra 200lbs of spare parts (differential, 2 sets of exhaust manifolds, BBS wheels, etc.) in the trunk also.

Cheers.....Rob

Yes, the total miles is 85% of what was driven.

All in all, lucky to not be in jail somewhere

Thanks again.

Congrats on the new Q! And I'm sure you had a blast in South Beach.

Such a nice Q. Way to keep her in the family.

Ahh very good Rex....glad to hear my old Q is still getting good mpg when I last measured over a year ago without the 4.08 getting around 19~20mpg without the 4.08.

Cheers and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

btw...how fast corrected for the speedo error did you get it up to?
