Hey,

I ordered boostdesigns fuel rail and i got it today i was happy to get in the mail i opened the box to see just the rail and packing penuts only.(did not get the bracket or screws for the rail) (maybe just my rail came like this i have not clue)

ok to the point the rail was half done first the finish was weak alot of scratch's on it and no type of finish (don't know if i should do it or not)It still had metal shaving's in the rail itself witch is a no no and the rail was not packed right (not protected at all). 2 of the 4 holes had a lot of chatter 1 really bad and 1 hole ovel shape. The injectors would not of seated right and under force the injectors would leak and cause a fire in the end (not good). The holes for the mount ing bracket's were to small to hold alot of force (would break after time if you manage to prevent the leaking first) all in all the rail was a waste.can't speak for the rest of the stuff he sell's be the rail is a no. i called him ALL day from the time i got it to now 9:00 no answer e-mailed him and left number of messages no reply.

I don't live very far from sound performance (phatka-t) so i stopped in to see there fuel rail and the work to see if there is a diffrents OMG was there i was so mad when i saw it i could have spend 50.00 more bucks and got there ****.It looked amazing you could see the diffrents in work. The pixz will tell you more. The way it was made the time, affort,it looks like 300.00+rail (i THINK its like 150.00 tho).Im going to buy there's after i get my money back for pj.Not taking sides in the matter but the work and money put in to research talks for it self if im going to spend alot of money on a project it better be good ****. My setup is Go/Show so thats a no,no on pj's rail.yeah some people think phatka-t is off the rocker for the price's but look at the work and time put in to the products they sell give them a call and someone can answer ALL the ques you got about turbo's or anything.ill try to get more picxz of phatka-t 's rail tomorrow. or when i get mine in ill post picxz.

Not trying to kill your dream's or put down BD for all you lover's out there not saying all the stuff is no good But work and service talk's for the company and that's what builds a strong name for KA-T love and power think about the parts you buy and what they do.Fuel is not to be mess ed with or to be cut short. i got what i payed for i guess

BD is the smaller one in the picx i have more picxz but to big ill find a way to load them. got no clue how to post picks so you can go to 240sxfourms.com in the ka-t you'll see them.

hey I hosted the pics so they could be viewed here without going to the other forums:

...and a comparison with the phat ka-t rail

I'm no machinist or anything but seriously those holes look like absolute crap. You can see ridges like crazy and its obvious that the holes are oval. I know theyre a sponsor and all, but damn-- shame on boost designs for shipping that thing.

Well I am and have been for the last 14 years. That is some poor quality work. I would be ashamed if I made something like that. Either they got cheap and made a circular profile with a smaller tool or their setup wasnt rigid enough hence the chatter marks. The holes also look off center and out of round. Either way its crap!! So unless you are a fireman or have one in the trunk do not run this thing. I would at least include a free flame suit with that rail cuz IT WILL start you sh1t on fire.I can see shipping a product with one flaw, but 3+ flaws is a joke. One flaw is a mistake, but 3 is a fuk up plain and simple. But I guess if its not your car that the part is goin in or you are not the driver, who gives a crap.Im not trying to start a flame war, but I am wearing a flame suit since Im in such close proximity to that leaking rail.Talk about getting 2 miles to a gallon. Hope this gets taken care of soon with a full refund.I dont even think Martha could make a project out of that.....shower head maybe???I would really be pissed @ the machine shop that this this work.

Sorry you could not get ahold of me i am running a business and trying to do shipping and everything else needed to run a company. i see the pics and agree with you i have them made and try to catch any problems with manufacturing i guess i missed it. the part is warrantied so there is no problem with sending it back. i will take it to the machine shop so that hopefully the manufacturing problem can be fixed. drop us a line and we will take care of it. thanks

Dude. "I guess I missed it" is not an acceptable response. Do you understand that a product like that is not only extremely low quality, but dangerous? What if someone else got this rail, someone else who - unlike levelzero1 - didn’t know enough to question the safety of that workmanship? I don’t mean to jump down your throat but there is a fine line between keeping costs down and pumping out a product that could seriously hurt someone. Get your priorities straight.

Screw the warranty PJ, I would look into a full refund and possibly thinking about recalling any of the other rails you sold.

Dont know who you are speaking of but i am not like any other sponsor on this forum. the customer had a problem with a part and is either getting a replace or a refund. thats the wonderful thing about a warranty so you dont haft to worry if things like this happen. some of you guys on here kill me as soon as a person has a problem with something you never even wait to see how the problem is handled you automatically turn like a wild animal on them. you cant run a business and deal with the volume i am dealing with without running into problems every company out there does! it matters how you handle them that makes it a good company or not. so please hate on !!!!! thanks

You said what I was going to before I did. I think some people just let there emosions get the better of them and act without thinking it through. It's human nature sure but, if we take just a quick moment to think things over instead of poping off, I bet you'll see in the end most times it works out.

I can understand someone being very upset and if nothing is done after going through proper methods then by all means, do what you have to do.

Now I have'nt had any dealings with boostdesigns but given what he just said, Im all for giving him the benefit of the doubt in hopes that they will deal with this situation quickly and properly.

Have a good one guys.

hey if anything, this should just exemplify the customer service that boost designs does. The rail is definitely defective but at least he is willing to admit to it and take the correct actions to fix this. Does this make the phat ka-t rail better than the BD rail????? I think it may just be that phat ka-t had better quality control that day. None the less, good job on PJ's part for posting up the response..........

You boys done swinging????

Maybe you guys dont undarstant. You can miss the mounting hardware, but not something like this.He could of blown his motor from low fuel press, set the damn car on fire or ended up in the hospital. So quit swingin if you dont understand what could of came of this. Yes I understand sh1t happens, but honestly I would just apologize like he did , but without excuses. I make and ship well over 200 parts a day and I NEVER SHIPPED AN UNSAFE ITEM AND NEVER WILL and Im busy as hell. Between taking orders, designing, purchasing, and babysitting 15 clowns not to mention making 50+ different programs a day I dont miss items that are safety related. I admit that I dont check parts that have nothing to do with safety and had some items returned, but if you dealt with half the volume my company produces thats a given.

I just got done making tensioner pulley brackets for Supras which SP sells and guess what??? I tested every piece on the Supra front cover before I dropped it off by SP.Guess what they did??? They tested all of them again because you dont gamble with someones $10k+ motor. When it comes to machining pieces that have anything to do with fuel, steering or safety in general YOU DONT MISS ANYTHING BECAUSE LAWYERS DONT MISS A THING!!!!

PJ consider this a lesson learned. I still think you make quality parts for the budget minded people, but you cant have excuses with an apology when it comes to something like that. Luckily it turned out ok and you only got your butt kicked a bit on the forum, but dont get on the defensive side when people are right.

If you look closely you will be able to see that the PK rail IS better. Design is better . Quality is better AND their quality control is like that every day. I have no idea what kind of work ethics you learned over the years, but there is no good quality control day and a bad quality control day whaen it comes to **** like that. I guess you are gonna get a job in China then. So since there was like 4 things wrong with the BD rail what can we expoect next???? 2 things wrong???BTW PJ had to respond to the post so whats with the good job comment???? Its his job to respond!!!You guys sit here stickin up for PJ, but it would be different if you got the bad fuel rail.Yes I do feel in a way for PJ because I know he is busy, but honestly I have no idea why you guys are swingin???? This is a major mess up!!!!Dont get me wrong the machine shop is @ fault too, but all PJ had to do is look @ the rail for a second. No need to measure anything.....just look.

For the record, quality assurance is 100% dependent on individual integrity. There is no exceptable Operational Risk Management when it comes to hazard assesment and avoidance.

Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking...Somthing alot of you civilians could do more of IMO.

talk about swinging, i need to hire you for promotional services for my company!!!!!!!!!! there is nothing i can say that will make you happy so there is no sense in trying there was a problem the problem is fixed and time to move on for me and deal with other customers. like i have said before when you make a kit and sell it then you can handle the situation to your best ability and besides what i done i dont know what you could do diffrent. and this is not heart surgery you act as if he would have put it on the car it would have just exploded on contact. come on it would have had a fuel leak as soon as he turned the switch and primed the system. then he would have seen the dilema. but again there is nothing i could say that will make you happy so it does not matter. hate on!

Nothing against you persoanlly PJ, The machinist is the irresponsible person in this case. Could you have looked at it prior to shipping, probably, but I'm quite sure you didn't intentionally sell a product like that. The machine shop you use needs a better QA program IMO.

Until this point, the only other problems I've seen are plumbing issues with the piping, so nothing safety related.

I'm sure you'll be able to clear this up and move on. Although I would suggest you talk to the machine shop at a minimum.

actually it is kind of mine becouse i should have took the time and went thru the box when i got it thru the machine shop as i did find 4 more out of the 50 i got made that i was not happy with so i guess its a good thing it was pointed out to me so i can get a grip on it. others do not understand when your dealing with making custom parts being bent and machined your eventually going to run into a problem but again the companys i use offer warranties, thats why i use them. and its the way you handle the problems that counts becouse you are going to have them. thanks

Couple things from my experience.

1. Don't argue with people. State your course of action and make it happen. Posting further only allows more people to come in and make comments about the situation. It inflates the situation.

2. Regardless of how busy you are you have to check everything. I worked at SPL Parts and we checked everything including the 70 lb. boxes of coilovers that we had to completely take apart and check, then repackage. We check every injector, every machined part, and even our control arms! There were only 2 people at SPL and we still did this.

I happen to be one of those people that fully understands how it is to custom make parts.

Just my position on it.

BTW, 2s4x0 ... you seriously need to learn to be respectful. I know it seems quaint to you to just post something like that but in all fairness, to someone that is trying to make a living it's a completely assine comment. You are not part of this transaction and such comments are not really warranted.

I'm going to stay neutral on ths one because there have been a lot of good points made.

Let me offer this: In the over 200 exhaust systems I (BRM) has sold, I have NEVER looked at one before it left the fabricator's shop en route to a customer.

I have had one returned for a quality defect. However, I trust my guys to do the best work possible, and I have a QA guy who is a real A-hole and will shove a catback up someone's arse if it's not right.

This machinist needs a SEVERE arse-chewing (or better yet, the loss of a contract).

PJ, any time you wanna switch shops, I have your guy, probably save you some coin too. Call me anytime.

If they are showing up to your shop like that and one of your guys sent that out... I would get a new trained monkey. Even a complete (EDIT: Dipstick) could have caught that before adding peanuts to the box.

Also how do you miss 1/2 the setup? I mean no mounting screws? If I order 12 things from Taco-Bell for $10 I expect to be missing an item or two... But to pay $50ish for 1 item and have it half there is just (EDIT: bullcrap).

I worked in packaging for a few years and had to recount orders of 5000 prints and check all for any mooning/anything before wrapping and shipping them out internationally. If some jack hole like me making minimum wage can do that I would expect at least that out of you're monkeys.

And just for insult to injury... No costumer should ever need to use a warranty on a fuel rail... That's just scary (EDIT: stuff). and if something that important got let out I hate to think of something with more moving parts... Say an engine? I sure hope you check those before sending them out.

You started to loose my business the 1st time you started ridiculing one of your costumers on another form.

EDIT: Guess not AZ

2ND EDIT: I'm sorry if any reference to a "bad-word" has offended you...

there are way too many moderators moderating the same posts.or the same forums even.

anyway. I think that there is entirely too much opinion going around. It wasnt made by him, and it wasnt a good way to show responsable bussiness sense by allowing a hugely defective product to go out like it did. BUt it happened. Its going to happen many more times im sure, and its not the end of the world. Just as it is his responsibility to monitor what goes out, its the same for the person recieving it. When you get your parts, check em out for quality. Allow the person to make it right before bashing away. Its only human to error. Theres too many pwoplw nowadays that think they do everything prefectly with their job, life, hobby, etc. If that were true, you would be much mroe succesful than youa re today and not even working, but rahter having the work done for YOU. Its not like this is an everyday occurance for him. Just lighten up and allow the situation to be rectified, and be done with it. Sheesh.

Greg, Alan and I all have 240's. So this is a common forum for us to read. I'm the only moderator that has posted in this thread that moderates this particular forum. Greg is the owner and has an interest in everything that goes on in here as well. Alan has been building turbo motors and worked around cars his entire life. In short, we'll post where ever we want to...but thanks for caring.
