My older brother's daughter, Morgan, is a total gearhead... She's been racing Jr. Dragsters for years, and picked up her first win of the 2011 season already...

It's genetic - we go fast. :bigthumb:

Her dad, Marty, says:

"Morgan put on a driving clinic Saturday with the first win of the year... but she did a better driving job Sunday when she blew the left front tire about 20 feet from the finish line and saved the car. Thank God for experience in the seat....most others would have wrecked the car!"

She'll be racing near our house (at Speedworld) in 2 weeks (January 29-30). Bex and I will go to cheer her on and take pics. Wish her luck!!!

p.s. If you guys know anyone who would like to sponsor this racer, please forward this thread on to them and have them contact me - Racing at this level is VERY expensive, and every little bit of assistance is a HUGE help!

That's awesome. I wish I had been able to get into something like this when I was a kid. Except moreso track driving, like go kart racing.

Same here.
The most car racing I did as a kid was on Mario Kart and Ridge Racer, but I beat all my friends so I think I'm at least on par with Formula 1 drivers.

Wish I would've gotten into something like this when I was younger. Or, more accurately, I wish my parents would have been able to financially support that hobby...

Probably scares Hammond more based on his wreck a few years back.

Pretty sure Christian and Tyler have met her (at one of our family get-togethers).

Regardless, you guys have about 3 years before you can start hitting her up.

IIRC, they start off as a standard 5hp B&S engine. They're then tweaked to upwards of 50hp, running nitromethane, and sound like all hell breaking loose. :)

Her car will attain 85 mph and can run a 7.90 second eighth-mile.

Your Brother Marty must be quite the father too, supporting her like that. Does he do any racing himself?

I did kart racing for quite a few years on a cart my dad and I built with a 600cc sled motor,we had plans of turboing it eventually because i had outgrown the power but I opted out and ended up selling the thing and putting the money into a car.I'll tell you it was a lot of fun,but very expensive and you rarely get to use the skills you gain on the street. My women is to afraid to ride with me when "I wanna go fast" in the twisties.

Older guys hitting on her in 3 years could include Nala....Better make sure she never dances with him. :bump:
