Well, I took the plunge and bought a new car this week. I haven't had time to play with it much as I have been working a lot since I got it.

I got an SL hatchback, manual, with convenience and abs. It is silver. I had wanted red, but that dealer wanted $500 more than what I was able to get this one for at another dealer. I figure I can live with a different color for $500.

So far its nice. I haven't driven a 4 cylinder since I moved to CO. There is a noticable difference in less power than what I've been driving. Stupid thin air. My old car was a V6 and I drive a V8 diesel at work. I guess I can get over that if it means I get better fuel economy.

I'm also disapointed in the transmission. There ain't much of a difference between 5th and 6th. I too agree that the RPM's seem high at highway speeds. But its fun to be driving a stick again.

The dealer gave me a free tank of gas. I thought that was cool.

The intelligent key thing is fun.

I need to see about getting snow tires sometime soon as we have started having little bits of snow here and there lately.

Welcome to NiCO!!

I hope you enjoy your little V, even if the power is a drop from what you're used to. It's pretty nice for an entry level car.

As has been mentioned by XterraVersa, make sure you're running 87 octane, not 85...
