Finally took the plunge today and put a deposit down on a new Versa. There happened to be one of exactly what I wanted already in shipping heading toward our dealership, or, as the salesman put it, the car is "on the rails". Unfortunately, their tracking methods of cars in shipment is pretty limited in our local sales department so I could be waiting anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks for it to arrive.

This is what I'm getting: Arctic White 2009 Versa Hatchback SL CVT Tech Package Sport Package

First thing I want to do is get the windows tinted and put on some chrome or clear taillights.

Not trying to be a negative nancy, but beware the bait and switch, happened to me with one that was supposedly "on the rails", then it came up missing, then was "damaged in shipping". Good luck, I hope this does not happen to you...

They wanted you to agree to buy when they didn't have what you wanted in stock? How did it play out? Did you eventually take another color/trim??

Well my 2008 HB Magnetic Grey Versa SL, was obviously never coming in. They had a $100 deposit from me, and thought they had my business. So they tried to put me in a Black S 6-speed, which I was against, I wanted the SL. Then the owner of the dealership came up with this genius idea of letting me test drive a Sentra S overnight to see if I liked it. When i returned it the next day, they had the paper filled out. So sure I was going to buy it. But instead I found a dealership who was able to get the car I wanted and drove to sign the papers in my "overnight" test drive Sentra.

They wanted to get my $$$ they could have cared less about what car I left in. Just make sure you stay on them and get what YOU want...

Congrats. I always ask them to tint all the windows free of charge. They tinted my SL for free.. Again enjoy your car..
