So its a good day and a bad day. The other week I lost my job. I was laid off like so many others. Well, before i got laid off I was saving money for a long time. I always wanted to do something big to my car but was always afraid to spend big money. Well it came down to it and I was going to do a VQ35 swap to my S13. Then my girls job slowed down and her hours were cut and I needed to help her out with some of her bills so I decided on not such an expensive build..... for now at least (still wana do the VQ swap but that will have to wait). Anywho, my buddy found me a really good deal on a turbo kit. I really wanted it but I have always been afraid of spending big money. Finally the day came when I looked myself in the mirror and said," stop being such a P*ssy about this and just do it, you deserve it." so I did. I withdrew my money and bought the kit. The next day, my boss calls me into his office and tells me they have to let me go do to economic slowdowns. As soon as I got out of the office I called the place that sold me the kit and they said it was to late to stop the kit. I said ****!!!!. So today my kit came. I'm really happy I have it, I love it, I just need to get a new job ASAP so i can get everything else i need and install this ****!!!

Pix for happyness!

The parts look good . Sorry about the job loss tho, remember that when one door closes another is there to open. IDK why all these companys talk about economic slowdown, hell, I still see people buyin their $1500 LCD tv's and walkin around with the latest cell phones and driving their gas guzzlers with wreckless abandon. Just keep your head up you'll find something so you can keep the work goin' on your S13.

Yea, i really want a job. I have been applying everyday. I have been looking in my home town, but I have also been looking within an hour radius. I have been sending alot of apps to milwaukee.

I love the turbo kit and I think it is a really good quality. I promised my friend I would say how much a I paid for the turbo kit because I bought it in his name because he got a huge discount on it. It is a super nice quality. The manifold is handmade. Its a brand new S15 turbo. I will tell you it isnt cheap, but i got a steal of a deal.

Here is another pic of the manifold. There are little square braces welded to the tubing at the plate and at the turbo flang for strength.

sorry about the job and good luck finding another, but nice looking kit. i have the same manifold but for an sr. the square reinforcements are nice but i still dont trust t not to crack over time (it is a cheaper manifold after all). take some time before you install it and cut the flange between each of the runners. this will prevent cracking since each runner can expand from heat at its own rate and won't stress the flange as much

Sorry to hear about the job. I am in sales for now and are hours are heavily cut back until lawn and garden season kicks in. Hopefully you can take this opportunity to find an even better job.

Nice kit though, is it an oem nissan turbo? Hopefully it all comes out great.

What's your plan for fuel management?

I was told it was an OEM S15 turbo. I am going to use SR injectors, but sence the turbo is S15, I'll use S15 injectors. They are 480cc. I am also going to go with a walbro fuel pump. As far as the fuel management goes, that will depend on how good of a job I get. I will post a build when I get going. I bought a new 240 that is rust free. I also bought part of a JDM S13 front end. I will but swaping my mods over from my old 240 to my new one with adding more goodies. It will be a good project. I only need a job now

sounds good. coupe or hatch? If you can I would go with the Apex Power FC, that's what I plan to get when my build gets more serious power wise.

Looks good man, your setup looks just like mine. When installing the intercooler, the upper part bolts onto where the horns bolt on, and the 2 flat pieces you will have to bend each end at a 45 degree angle and they will bolt right up from the holes on the bottom of the ic to where the vertical pieces of your radiator core support bolt on to the bottom horizontal piece. Haha i know that's a lengthy description but if you do that it bolts right up.

Not to bust your chops or anything, but why is everyone saying its a nice kit? its XSpower for screws sake, the turbo is a knockoff S15 turbo not OEM nissan, the parts are cheap and warp/crack/break easily, damn. I understand that you didnt have the bones to pull in a quality turbo kit which is fine, you may have great luck with xspower, but by no means is it a "quality" or "nice" turbo kit.

use an oil restrictor, put a flexpipe in the exhaust, run a tial spring in that wastegate.. That manifold is not hand made, that is not an s15 turbo.

I ran an ebay manifold, turbo, and wastegate and didn't have any issues the whole summer. But i took preventative measures like i listed.

jesus, lets just cut down the guys turbo kit... he said he got a good deal on it, so why not.. the manifold is a megan racing look alike, the turbo is deffinetly bigger than any stock sr20 turbo, and thats a decently sized front mount he's got there.. im sorry but this kit is better than running ebay stuff.. anyone who knows well enough would NEVER buy an ebay turbo, there made by the chinese for christ sake..

the only backup precaution i would suggest for this turbo kit, is to weld more of those square pieces to the manifold.. 1 per pipe isnt enough, they still crack..

I wasn't cutting it down i was informing him that he was lied to... Those bottom mount manifolds have gotten good reviews from many people on here and ka-t.org. The ebay turbos such as the one he has are known to be ok with low boost and an oil restrictor. I would switch out that bov for a 1g dsm one since they can be had for very cheap, and ebay bov's are known to leak.

hmm you live in racine huh? I heard of an s13 like yours doing flybys on a white turbo miata? From my friend who owns it. any truth?

i know there is alot of stuff on ebay that actually good, im just sayin..

my only thing is dont cut ppl down on the stuff they buy, if you were giving him advice than thats cool.. i know im not a moderator or nothin, im just sayin its rude to cut down other people's stuff...

From what I have learned its not custom. My friend told me it was. But now that I have it and have shown it to ppl on the web, people are telling me I was riped off.

To the OP, I would say you got ripped because you got junk stuff, but you couldnt have paid too much for the stuff. I would run an oil restrictor on the turbo like mentioned above because E-bay turbos are known best for blowning oil seals, Just rock what you got man no sense in regretting anything.
