Hey all, I went to Formula D with Fred last night. First Fred is an awsome guy, he drove 120 miles out of his way to come pick me up.

Any way, His Z is awsome. The power is unbelevible. It is very smooth. Low RPM is good but from 3000 to redline is incredible. He says boost increases 1 psi per 1000 rpm. It is very linear, like a NA engine twice the size. At least twice the size!! Unlike a turbo, there is power in all gears, all the time. On one occation we accelerated of a shoulder after he let me drive for a while and it took all I had to pull my head off the head rest. Power delivery was different from what I imagined it would be. The only thing I can relate it to is a time I rode in a Viper GTS. It was the same feel only much smoother. The Viper was harsh, neck snapping. Fred's Z was just a good heavy pressure trying to push me through the seat into the trunk! And that sound We drive through parking lots and everyone turns and looks. Its like Fred says, 3/4 of the people wonder whats broke. And I said to him, Yeah, but the other quarter are in Aww because they know power when they hear it! He said he was getting about 21-22MPG. Which is amazing because we made pretty good time. Anyway, the ride there was just as interesting as the event itself! We traveled at least 500 miles and it was one of the best 500 miles I have ever spent in a car!

Oh yeah, In reference to hearing it a block away, He dropped me off and started home. About a half mile away he got on the interstate and I could hear SC whine as he accelerated off the ramp. A half mile away...all I could do was smile!

The verdict: I WANT ONE

I wonder if the whine is comparable to the 03 cobra s/c whine. THey are also very loud. Awesome install Fred. Definitely has come a long way. What are the dyno numbers on it?

Dyno number on a dyno dynamics are 300 whp which is about equivalent to 340whp in dyno jet as dynodynamics is even more conservative than mustang dyno.

On stock timing it woulkd have been 355 whp ( dynojet)

But real easy to tune accurately.

that's good bang for the buck friend. Hopefully I can attend a meet and see the car in action. You've come a long way wtih this. I have been converted from turbo to sc by watching all these 03/4 cobra vids. I just love that whine!

there is a 350 with a procharger that comes to my dealership every so often and it is very loud. it does not sound like a mustang blower but more like a wounded animal.

Yes you hear the gears more than the whine.

But its fast and never once pinged yet ( as far as I could hear).

My 3000 mile review will come soon.

Fred did you have to do any fuel upgrades? Also, what's the best 350z site to check out? Oh....and where are the pics?

Fred I am not sure if your charger is the same or not, but we had to remove a super charger from a Z the other day. He was having a problem with it throwing the belt all the time so he just wanted to have it removed, he had it on there for quite some time already though. upon visually inspecting it I found that the cog gears were severly eatin up y the belt. The ridges of the cog were dished in where the belt made contact. Are there any pictures posted of your unit installed so I can determine weather or not its the same unit??

Fred's is an ATI Procharger. One unique ATI feature is it's own oiling system. no oil lines! He hasn't been around for a few days!?

He is in Louisville away from internet service.
