DE3175 (dome light) i got one with 8 leds dont get anything lower you might get away with the 6 but depends on how bright you want it...

as for the map lights (the personal lights up front on the overhead console) the size for that is BA9S

hope that helps

they were BA9S / 1895, they fit perfect. If buying for maplights get something small but high power like this, there isnt much space in there

link to item i bought http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAP...CA:31

I just switched my map lights with bulbs with 5 LEDs. the color looks alot better but they arent as bright as the old stock bulbs. I'm going to try and find some with 8+ LEDs.

I bought mine from Ebay.

but you can also try:

http://www.superbrightleds.comhttp://ww ... dlight.com

get a bulb with more than 5 leds per bulb. The 5-led or less bulbs aren't bright enough to light up the truck like the stock bulbs.

UPDATE:the 5-led bulbs I got from ebay weren't nearly bright enough so I ordered a 16-led board and installed it in the map light.

5-led bulb on the left, 16-led board on right. super bright white light!

lights up the interior like day light

Has anyone ever tried to connect the map lights to the dome light so they come on when the door is opened? I've always wanted them to operate like that. Any ideas how to make it happen?

I don't know about that but I have little side lights on my roof rack that I had hooked up to my dome light (not anymore though) so when I hit the unlock button they would come on & light up the side of my truck.

Everyone is going with white...but why not red, blue or green???

And since these map lights are used at night, super bright doesn't really need to be a priority. I would think 6-8 LEDs is plenty. 16 and 24 is just crazy.

If anyone wants more light in the footwells, have you thought about cold cathode light tubes (CCLT). I've seen them in 4, 6, and 12". The 6 throws some nice light, but I would go 12" or dual 6s if you are using them in the trunk.

its all a matter of preference, but to be honest we are trying to keep our rides fresh and luxurious, blue grreen or red doesnt exude luxury, it seems ricey and all the teenies with their neons do that. we want to keep some integrity and class

I tried the 6-led bulbs in the map lights and it deffinatly wasnt enough light to see clearly. 16-leds may seem like alot but its not blinding when you turn them on. mine light up the inside of the truck clearly like daylight and give nie even bright light. its something you have to see in person to understand I guess
