Nice, haven't seen a valve cover that clean for a long time. Good lock with the sr.

that looks pretty damn clean. I would just say do the normal maintenance stuff like replace the oil filter now while its really easy to reach and make sure to hand tighten it so u're able to remove it next time without too much trouble and stabbing a screw driver through it. Also just check for shaft play and change the turbo gaskets as well while the motor is out and easy to reach. Good luck with her.

yup the normal maintenace is the next thing i do. im gonna replace the water pump too before i put the engine in the car. i have some goodies that i can swap over from my ca to this motor, so its not a total loss. Ive got a disco tater for it, a blitz active clutch, and a front mount thats in already but i need to find a new coldpipe since i cut the orignal one up. im gonna put the motor in stock though first and make sure that everything is ok. as for the ca im gonna sell it. i just couldnt get the motor to run once it warmed up. it had been about a year and a half since i started that swap and it just wasnt working out so i got the sr. o and thanks for all the positive feedback.

Plus that oil filter is a bigger pain in the *** then any other filter I've seen (unless you get the wrench)

Actually i have had 1 for the past 2 years and never needed to use a filter wrench to get it off just a t shirt some times.

Honda crx is a ***** not a sr20. Hell you can take it off from the side of the engine bay. Alot of other cars have it behind the exhaust manifold and on the back of the engine. Im sorry its right under the intake manifold sticking out easy as pie. Btw im not small 6 4

it's no harder then on a dual cam KA... then again I have a engine bay so clean you could eat off it.

ooooo......haven't tried the t-shirt technique yet...I have a spare silicone connector that I throw over the oil filter which grips it really well.

Nice compression numbers on the motor, a lot better than mine came with. When I bought mine, they told me the numbers were 90 across all four. . My rebuild followed.

i have never had an issue with getting my oil filter off. i usually use a shirt though just because of the heat.

in the time that it would take me to change the oil in my gf 2002 civic i could change the oil in my sr 2 or 3 times.

you guys are crazy. it takes seriously 3 seconds to unscrew my filter, without a filter wrench. how hard do you screw on your oil filters?

Recommended hand tight, then 3/4 of a turn more...

i know how tight the filter has to be, its just in such an awkward location for me. I guess i just cant bend like that or something. I do like my relocator, though.
