My Ford is boosted. You see, my passenger gets out and sits on the tailgate, where they help it along, "boosting it." Sometimes, going downhill, if he's well rested and had enough to eat, we can get the truck up to 85!

The Max don't need boost. 265 n/a hp, *****!

Huh? Dude WTF? I wasn't being an *** about it. I'm just proud of my car. I've never bashed on your car. Your Laurel is nice. Very nice. My point was not to degrade you car. In fact that statement was more joke than anything. I did not mean to imply that there was something wrong with cars that do have boost.I apologise if you took that as an insult to your car. The fact that I added the "*****" at the end tells you it was all in good fun.

What do you mean, 10+ years? Actually I was talking about the current model, not my own car. My dad's got one, it's very fun to drive. MY car needs boost bad. It needs a new engine. But it's still fun to drive.

I know my car is old. I know it doesn't even put 150 to the ground. I don't give a ****. It's fun as hell to drive. If I can't post on a NISSAN forum about my NISSAN then there is something wrong. Nobody's giving you **** for talking about your fifteen year old Laurel, what's wrong with me talking about my 12 year old car?

Oi...why is it whenever I try to joke around with people, someone always gets offended and pissed off?

No, don't worry about it. I'm just an idiot. Sorry, I haven't slept since saturday morning so...stufff. I can't exacty...It sounded angry, and then I just...yeah.

Sorry, I realized you were joking later, after I was less out of it. But by that time I was not anywhere near a computer.

Just ignore anything I say for the next day or so, because I won't be sleeping anytime then either.

Lemme try this again:

I'm still an avid hater of FWD GM or really...just GM in general anymore...

it's like they've got a ban on the manufactor of manual cars...

Ford really doesn't offer much in the way of manual trannies either...but they've got their pony car still...and a faster truck (well, next year anyway...well, it'll be the fastest then...)

Indeed... They are all POS.. but that tap shift thing was kinda nifty... It was very nice, it really shifts the gears when you wnat it... Much better than the G35 one...

the bottom line, imho, is that its not gonna be as good as the Q

A friend of mine has a flutter BOV on his Mazdaspeed Protege. It's a pretty quick car for a Protege.

My Max is a '93. GXE, so not that fast. In my opinion, though, it's the best Maxima body style of all. One day it WILL have boost. Supercharged. But that boost won't come until it's got a VQ, and not even God knows when that'll happen.
Mr1der wrote:I'm still an avid hater of FWD GM or really...just GM in general anymore...

Er...Maybe Chevrolet and Buick, but the only GM worth checking out, Cadillac, offers a manual on every model, and the V series are ONLY available with manuals. Oh... but then there is Saturn. That right there is reason to hold a grudge against GM. Yeah, I guess it's all GM BUT Cadillac must die. That works for me. I just find it hard to be angry at any automaker who builds a 500+ horsepower pimp-mobile with a s/c Northstar and a 500 horsepower sports sedan with a 360 small block. I love V8s. Maybe I should try and cram a VH45 into my Max instead of a VQ40...or a VK56.

I've dealt with very few (read: three) Fords that weren't absolute **** (I am referring to recent models...say, newer than 1970) so I can't really say GM is any worse than Ford. Although, I'd never buy a GM unless it was a Caddy, 'Vette, or an F-body--or a REAL Impala SS, not the new garbage. I'd never buy a Ford unless it was a pre-70 Mustang or a Mercury Marauder/Maruquis or a T-bird. I think the T-Bird is the only Ford that's been a great car every year it was made.

Hey...you're a Ford dude...can you tell me what made Ford discontinue the Marauder? I LOVED that car...and I was glad to see Mercury provide us with a reason for it's existence. But then they pulled the model only a year or so later. It pissed me off.

they killed the Maruader due to poor sales.

very cool car, but it needed more power, there was rumor of a VT version that was gonna put out close to 400hp...

The T Bird wasn't a great car every year it was made either...

most of the Caddies where FWD and the XLR has no manual, the DTS doesn't, I'm betting the STS doesn't either, but I'm not sure about that...the closest they have is the lame tiptronic style stuff...

where are these 500 horse sedans you speak of? The CTS-V was only 400...unless they're gonna chase the AMG and M5...

Yeah CTS-V WAS only 400. Now it's 500. It's been given the C6's 6.0 liter for 2006 as a V Plus, to compete with the M and AMG as you said.. They will also probably be offering a 4.6 liter "Northstar II" powered CTS to fit in between the V and the normal. STS-V will be 500-515, from a supercharged Northstar. No, as yet, the STS does not offer a manual, but it will either be an option or the only transmission on the STS-V. I was thinking it had one, but I double checked...only two 5 speed autos. XLR is auto, I forgot about that.

The DTS/Deville doesn't count. It's old Cadillac. I was referring to the new ones. I HATE the DTS/DHS/other recent DeVilles. Every single Caddy is RWD now, again aside from the DeVille. The STS has gone over to rear drive finally (though the old one was better looking...I think it's one of the best looking cars of its time).

I wish more people would have bough Marauders, I would have liked to see that take off. I remember seeing the magazine ad the first time, something about stealth and staying under the radar. It was a badass ad.

The new, RWD, STS--

the C6 only makes 400 though?

don't get me wrong...Caddy is making a turn around...but I'll expect Ford to drop a lincoln bomb shortly...I'm thinking an LS with the GT motor....

Yes, the C6 only makes 400 hp. But that doesn't mean that's all the LS2 is capable of making. In the CTS-V Plus, it will make 500.

The LS is a good looking car...if they put the GT motor in it...Damn. That'd be a nice car! With Cadillac and Lincoln making cars like those...BMW is in for a battle. Good. I miss the american muscle car.

The new, RWD, STS--
MOD, have you ever driven a DTS? They'll spank a Marauder on the highway and they're damn good road cars. The Deville name is being dropped and the whole line will be called the DTS, much like the Seville/STS deal. It will be available from a livery package car up through a flagship-level machine. This is how the STS is. You can get that car from the low 40's to the mid 60's, depending on equipment. We will have an S-class fighter, and it won't be long.

Also, the CTS-V has the LS-6 engine, not the LS-2. This is the reason that there is no automatic. GM doesn't have an auto rated for that engine. I know we would sell more V's if there was an auto option. I like it that way though, because only real drivers buy that car.

I miss the musclecar too.
