Just got pulled over on my way home from work, had to get on here and ***** about it. 4 tickets for one traffic stop:

1. Speeding- 58 in a 40- $1452. Broken Windsheild- $463. Failure to produce license(left my wallet at home)- $464. Failure to produce proof of insurance(its in my wallet) - $46

As far as fighting it- he got me on laser and i definately was speeding so whatever. But the other three i can get dismissed if i prove i have ins/license/new windsheild. well sorry for the useless post, just had to vent.

i got 3 once for following too close, illegal lane change, and 60 in a 40. I MIGHT have been doing 50ish, but nowhere near 60. Cops are pricks.

yeah, this one was a state trooper on a motorcycle, so he was an even bigger prick. i was watching him in my rear view mirror, he just kept flipping up the tickets and writing more. I sat there for like 15 minutes while he wrote them all. Oh well

I see you're typing something, but it's kind of blurry and unintelligible.. Wait - I'm starting to be able to make it out - Looks like... you're typing...

I hate people who are up on my A$$... that is the most annoying thing on the road besides people going 45 in the fast lane and not moving over...

you could prob fight it. guessing u have had tickets before. when u go to court and talk to the prosecuter ask for a no pointer. should go down to an unsafe driving. this is from experience. i got my license in june last year got my first ticket in march last year 3 days after i bought the car for driving without a license, insurance, registration, and after curfew, cop pulled me over for no reason and got lucky. but he knew so gave me a ticket for no license got out of it with a $25 fine. but 4 other tickets havent been that cheap. 2 of my friends just went to court for speeding both downgraded to unsafe driving, higher fines but no points.

that car is a mr2, so it has the right for a TRD plate.

ha, you got a ticket for a broken windshield?was part of it missing or something? i had a crack in the bottom of my last cars windshield for 1 1/2 years! (i was broke most of th time nd it was small enough that you could only notice it if you were close.)

I have two huge spiderwebs in the passenger half of the windsheild, from my "friend" punching it . He just got a job today so soon it will be paid for.

Here's an idea...DONT BREAK THE LAW! I hate it when people speed, tailgate, etc. and then cry when they get pulled over for it. You gambled, you lost, pay your ticket and have a nice day. Not all cops are pricks (albeit their are quite a few who are), most of them are reasonable people like you and me just doing their job.

I agree with hitman and big jon. you're upset with a cop for giving you tickets for speeding in a car with a cracked windshield and missing the required documents necessary to operate it because... you were speeding in a car with a cracked windshield and didn't have the required documents with you? Oh, OF COURSE, it's all the cop's fault. I can sum up your problem in one word...GUILTY. The cop's just doing his job, buddy. Sorry you got hit with 4 tickets, but life ain't always fair. Enjoy the ride....a little more slowly next time.

Dang, dont be so harsh, did i not say in my first post that I WOULD be paying the speeding ticket? Oh thats right, i did, cause i was speeding, im a big boy, i'll admit when im wrong. The windshield, on the other hand, is not my fault. A friend punched it and i cant afford to replace it right now, and dont come back at me with the whole "well you shouldnt be driving your car with a busted windshield untill you can afford to fix it" deal, because thats obviously not feasible: no car= no ride to work= no money to fix it anyway. The license and insurance that I forgot at home is a simple mistake that could happen to anyone.

Since i WAS speeding, im going to pay the ticket, im just *****ing because i was moving with the flow of traffic and happened to be the one in the right lane, so i was the most convenient one to pull over.

ps- as far as tailgaiting goes, i despite people who do it. I think tailgating should be a felony.

I don't think I was being harsh. I am sorry that you got nailed, but 3 of the 4 tickets were preventable. I suspect the broken windshield was more the reason why the cop chose you to pull over, and less because you were closest. But why isn't your friend paying for the windsheild he damaged? Not much of a friend. But if his paying isn't in the cards. I strongly suggest you put the windshield replacement on a credit card or borrow the dough from your family. It's not one ticket and your done with broken windshields. You could get a ticket every time you drive it that way. You can quickly exceed the cost of a windshield with a couple of tickets. You're also giving the cops a blaring reason to pull you over. But I agree with you about tailgaters. No class. Good luck.

Lesson learned, eh 1dollar? BTW, the windshield is a structural member in the 240's construction. It's just as important as the door pillars or the roof in protecting the occupants in an accident. If it's cracked, it's like driving a car with a sliced A-pillar.

Actually, I hope it goes well for you - At least you didn't say something moronic and asinine like Syntax360. Good luck.

He is paying for it eventually, he just got a job today.

Not a feasible solution.

Actually, I asked about that, it might be different where you live, but here in FL, i get thirty days to get it fixed. If i keep the ticket with me and I get pulled over again, the cop wont write me another one.

Yep.

Quote »BTW, the windshield is a structural member in the 240's construction. [/quote]

Well, thats good to know. Now I'm even more paranoid when i drive.
