Well I am now in Japan and have my new RB. Even though its a RB20 and its in a R32 GTS-T type M its ok. The car itself is really nice its a 92 (which is really clean)and came with R33 GTR IMPUL R33R rims(which I dont like at all), Apexi filter, RSR Ex mag II exhaust and Nismo shock and spring setup. The rest is as the car came(but not for to long more to come at a later time). The Rb20 is not bad, it suprized me with the pep it has after having my 25. But the 20 will do for now at least for the next 8 to 12 months. I will post some better pics as soon as I am setteled in and get my Digital camera here. I only have cell phone pics for now.

Ok, everyone all together.....ONE....TWO...THREE.....YOU SUCK!!!!!!

Congrats man, that is one nice looking car. The R32 body has always been my favorite. It just looks so much sleeker than the R33 and not a muscular as the R34....Nice car.

Have fun in Japan!

Thanks Jon, oh and I will try yo have as much fun as possible

Carl H: I am happy with the RB20 so far but wont mod it very much I have other plans in store for the 32. Just give me 6-8 months to get it all worked out.

Oh and I had to pass on a Worked R32 with a RB24 for 5000. The car would have been to hard to drive daily. onle had the dash, two racing seats, roll bars, more DEFI gages than needed, complete race sus. The car was even illegal here, but had to pass even though the dealer said he could get it legal for the street.

Well anyway now that I am over here I am hoping I will be able pass on some info to others that maybe cant be found back in the US that deals with the RB's.

I am green with envy! Sheesh, I would sell a kidney for an R32, heh. This may be off-topic, but I work for an international company, and as such, hear things about owning cars in various countries, etc. I've been told that if you have a car registered for at least 12 months in another country, then you can legally import it when you return to the US. I'm not positive on this, but I'm sure you're already looking into it. Good luck, keep that hot car clean and fast.

it's true about owning for 12 months. When i was in okinawa i was trying to get my r33 gts-t to the states for free but i had to stay in okinawa another year and own of vehicle for 1 full year. But, you still have to clear customs and meet U.S. standards of safety. So if you plan on bringing it back good luck. Get up with TMO.

USMC and I've already found a couple of shops I will be a regular at. As far as selling stuff thats in works as well but still living in the Lodge untill I get a house. I plan to find and ship stuff for people but I will do it legal and not get cought using the government mail for profit and all that crap. Should not be to long as soon as I find a shipper over here and get settled in a little. Rb parts are plentiful and a little searching you can find some awsome prices over here. So I will keep you all updated and thanks for the compliments on the car.

An update on the new RB. I have decided that I am not to happy with the RB20. I know mine is mostly stock but after driving my 25 for so long, I need more. SO.... I went to a local shop who does a lot of RB\SR work (GOD YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN ALL THE GTR'S THERE) and doign everything at his shop he will convert my 20 to a 26 for about 450000 yen. Thats around 4500 dollors and most of the cost is labor and changing out parts needed. Engines are prety cheap here. I will most likely do the swap myself if I can find the info on what I need to be change over. Not supposed to be super difficult just need to find the info before I start, or say screw it let them do it and figure out what they did for future endevors. I mean 4500 is les then I have seen the 26 for in the states. Man, as soon as I find a way to ship directly to people form here I should be able to get you guys motors for much less and still make a little money. Oh and when I do the swap I will have an RB20 for sale : ) Well thats about it for now on my update.

I could put an rb26 in my 240sx for $4500, you'd think in a place where the engines are cheap/available and in a car that came with an RB, it would be cheaper...hmm.

Goofynick: Engines are cheap here. Like I said its not the engine thats expensive. Labor is insane over here. Oh and if you can install RB26's in 240s for 4500 start advertising and you will be one rich person.

I cant send anything to big untill I find a good source to ship from here to the buyer. However small stuff I can send EMS (japanese express mail) I have used it when I was in the states for parts and it is to you in like 3-5 days with a tracking number. problem is it is not cheap.

Boostfed: if you really want a crank I can get it but its the shipping that cost. if you know the weight check here. http://www.post.japanpost.jp/e....html

On the subject of getting your skyline back to the states...Do you think that you could take the engine out of the body, then ship them both back to the states as "auto salvage" and then just reasemble it? After that, take it to a DMV that doesn't know jack and get them to register it! DO IT!!

if you can find a source to ship by sea to a port in the US...i can pretty much handle the customs, etc...if you can hook up rb25 & rb26 long block would be great. keep digging information about shipping engine crates over:)

What about an S15 turbo? Those are relatively small and light. I'd like to put one on my RB20, but I don't really trust the ebay sellers.

modestmouse: thats one way i know of but I would like it to be fully legal when I do it.

As far as parts go shoot me a pm or better is an email. I can try yo track the parts down. If the parts are under 30kg I can send it EMS i posted the link to the prices by wieght. I have got some contact info now for containers but not all the info still need to do some talking. and I guess find a broker or some crap.

Boostfed contact me off the board.

O man.. if you figure out the container situation and you start shipping here to the states I'll be happy to be a business partner. =p I have lots of money to invest, just awaiting the right opportunity. I've been planning on going to Japan next summer to scout out the market over there and start shipping stuff... but a business parter in Japan would be awesome.

If someone told you that secret they wouldn't be able to make twice the profit on you. hint hint.

I will be making a list of parts to check this weekend. I hope I can get some prices for you guys and the time it will take me to get it. If you guys are really serious about the parts send me an email with exact parts you want to check on. I will complile a list and check this weekend. Just remember I still have a wife that needs attention to so if your serious email me. [email protected] I will need more than r33/34 crank???? 26 or 25??? you know. Anyway I dont want to clutter the boards with to much on this so if you can email me. thanks oh and the prices change with the yen rate and the level of modifications already on the motor. so I would rather not give any prices as of yet. I dont want to get hopes up if it turns out there is nothing I can do. Dont worry I will post when I get it worked out.

Thanks. I have waited a while for this car now its time to make it like I really want it. Working on getting rid of uneeded stuff now. (HICAS, RB20, stock front end and so on). I will be very pleased when I get it done and get it back to the states.

I'm envious man. If I couldn't live in the U.S., Japan is where I'd be. Strictly for the cars. (well and the anime)

Can't wait to see those pictures!
