I bought a pre-owned 2015 Q70 5.6 about two months ago. I love the car! I feel privileged to drive it. I had been driving a 2007 Infiniti G35, which I also liked a lot. The Q70 came equipped with the deluxe touring and technology packages. I am amazed by all of the anti-collision technology. I particularly like the blind spot and back-up warnings. I suppose that technology eventually will become standard on most cars as self-driving technology continues to mature.
My G35 was a color called Lakeshore Blue, which was a nice looking lighter blue. The Q70 is Hermosa blue. It is a much darker, richer blue.
After buying the G35, I put in quite a bit of effort learning how to detail the car. In fact I got so interested in detailing that I became a moderator on a detailing forum for several years. I can now put that knowledge to use on the Q70.
Soon after I brought the Q70 home I gave it an exterior and interior detail. The exterior paint did not need polishing, so I did not use my orbital buffer. I washed, clayed, and then washed the car again; applied two coats of sealant; and applied wax. In addition, I cleaned the wheels. On the interior, I applied a UV protector on the dash and doors; applied leather cleaner and a leather conditioner to the seats and leather on the doors and above the steering wheel; and cleaned the plastic areas and windows with a glass cleaner. I washed the carpeted areas and floor mats and applied fabric guard to both.
I bought a custom cargo liner for the trunk and custom floor mats, both from third party vendors, and had the names of each of my dogs embroidered on either front floor mat. I also bought a pet seat cover for the back seat, and a non-slip 2' X 4' rug pad to put on the front console when transporting the dogs. One of my dogs puts his front paws on the front console before retreating into the back seat when I put the car in gear.
I am glad to be part of the M/Q70 community.
