my new old 240z

just picked this baby up for 800 bucks awesome shap for a 40year old car floor boards are soild no rust anywhere on the whole frame just a small spot on the door car turns over freely but i got the carbs in a box in pieces and i not even going to try and reassemble them my dad said to just sell the parts off the carbs and get a used set .












did 240z come with a sun/moon roof ??




i hope to get it running and lose the auto transmission and just make it moveable not real sure what i wanna do with the car i do have a spare rb20 but i dunno so many options

no, no Z ever came with a sunroof form the factory, the curve fo the roof does nto lend itself to a sunroof, they have to distort the metal to put one in which si why most z guys avoid cars with a hole in the roof (FYI every factory sunroof I've ever seen has drain holes in the corners beneathe the glass with tubes that run down and out to help prevent leaking aftermarkets do not do this), at least you got a solid chassis, rust free simply doesn't exhist in my area, congrats on the find

the manual conversion is very simple and if you plan on an rb swap you might want to just do it then

I'd keep my eye otu fro a 240 hood btu thats a matter of taste/origionality, the mirrors and armrest are also add ons

and I LOVE the licence plate frame "Do it in a Datsun", words to live by

Update this weekend I went to the junkyard found a set of carbs for the z. Cleaned them up them slapped them on and a few turns of the key. Book she fired up after sitting for 20 years wow did it smoke for a while lol the water pump is frozen so thats next on the list to get replaced with all the hoses that leak everywhere I'll post pictures later today
