Hey guys. Just thought i would let you all know how my life is going. I recently began a new and exciting job as a salesperson at the Firestone here in town. I am not working on cars, but i am the person who tells the customer what is wrong with their and the person who gives the estimate on repairs and tracks down parts, as well as selling tires and stuff. I get to use my extensive knowledge of the 240SX to help tell grandma whats wrong with her '82 Buick. hehehe. Ive been there a week and it is QUITE hectic. Im always doing 5 or 6 things at a time, and still being new, is quite confusing at times. But im starting to get the hang of it all. I would definately have to say that this job is a keeper. They pay me quite a bit (lets just say over $10 an hour) and i am working around 46 hours a week. Also, the service manager is going to copy me the 9 CD set of Mitchell on Demand, THE definitive computer service manual. It contains every car ever made.

Anyway, just thought i would let you guys know my life has definately picked up.

Yup, its the multitasking i have a problem with. I used to work in retail electronics sales on comission, so you dealt with one customer at a time until they either bought something or not. Here i am not on comission, which is ok, but i am doing 7 or 8 things at one time. Also, the hours i work are like an all day thing. So far ive been 10am to 7:30pm every day but Sunday, which was 9am to 5pm. Kinda leaves doing something either in the morning or the early evening out. Oh well, i think i will adjust just fine.

BTW, mainevent212, i looked that tire size up in our system, not one tire came up. So that means our local warehouse doesnt even have them. Honesty, you are better off getting them from http://www.Tirerack.com or somewhere like that. So far ive sold a lot of truck tires and a lot of grandma buick 60 or 70 series tires. Nothing yet that is lower profile than 55.

One of the cooler things about it is i can use the Firestone account at the local parts stores (autozone, o'rileys, carquest) and get their cost on the part, so long as i pay cash. Bascially, i saved $10 off of a $120 starter for my 944. Not that big a deal, but still.

Oh, and i cant get a saturday off. Ever. Period. That sucks. So much for having a life.
