So, here's my new intake.

Stillen airbox, JWT popcharger & Z tube

I also heatwrapped the z-tube, MAF housing, and the airbox

You can see the painted valve covers. The rest of the engine is dirty and is also under construction. More engine bay pics to follow...

Its been really cold here this last week. I'm sure the difference will be noticed. I'm also going to enlargen/create a hole to the side of the radiator in front of the air box which will allow for more air flow. The 350Z already has this.

I've got a spare plenum that I've been polishing. Its just been cold outside so I don't wanna be out sanding/polishing in that weather.

I had the JWT heat shield before... I didnt like how hot it got. I don't think it helps with the temps. I would wrap that heat shield at a minimum for anyone that has the JWT. I have a whole roll of some heatshield tape that I didnt use, if anyone wants to buy it....

The cost of the STILLEN airbox. I had to buy the filter and stuff but I sold those.

Very Nice! Did you have to pull the plenum to remove the valve covers?Looks like our cars will end up being very similar under the hood.

Polishing the plenum huh?? Where'd ya get that idea? BITER!! HAHA.......J/K I think I am just gonna media blast my plenum to get the shine a bit better and then powdercoat it with translucent blue and also do my Injen intake tube and the valve covers also. Then go with SBD's blue wires and can't forget to do the hood prop too!

GO RICE!!

Long time since I've seen you around Logan.

I got some headers...just thought you should know. I'm gonna send you an email... planning to do the install next week when I can find some time. I know you told me that I needed to move the steering knuckle.

Yes, you have to remove the entire plenum assembly to get to the valve covers. I did a write-up on it. You can see a few more detailed pics. Take a look at it.

The idea of polishing my plenum I got a long time ago when I saw someone on driver selling one. I've been slowly polishing a spare that I bought. Its all down hill from where I'm at finally.

I've got a few more tricks up my sleeve. Just you wait til I'm finished! haha

How much of the heat wrap do you have left? I may be interested.

for the hole a 4" hole saw works the best...On my supercharger I re-routed the intake through the front radiator support....Its now right behind the front grill. This is just the rough pic....dont need to give away all my secrets.....lol

Rather than cutting with a hole saw, I would use an industrial hole cutter if one has access to one. Makes a much nicer hole.

This intake looks like a good setup. The jwt heatshield doesnt really help with heat soak. the popcharger is very effective an the stillen airbox does a pretty good job as well. I think the heat wrap is a very good idea.

Yup. The heat wrap and the hole in front are great additions...everyone with the JWT heat shield needs to use some heat tape to stop that heat soak.

i did a hole like that on my jeep intake... i didn't see that opportunity with my g35... the stock box takes in air high up, almost hood level...

is a hole worth the trouble of cutting?
