My new EX 35 - White

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

My car arrived Saturday night via Kee West Transport from Edmonton.

The car had a big splatter of oil on the roof and the back end. All in all the car was near perfect. The oil came off at the car wash with no issues and no chemical needed. The unit is fully loaded with custom leather.

Sunday morning the car would not start, so I had to put the trickle charger on it for most of the day. I read the manual to occupy my time.

I won't be driving it because our temperatures are warming up and I need to get it booked in for the 3M kit. The kit, plus added extras are, left and right pillars extend to the roof line, door edges, rear top bumper edge, left and right black door frames, and rear left and right. I have done this on other vehicles and it does protect and does not take away from anything. I will also ask for the centre piece on the shift knob and see if the 3M will stick.

In the near future I will be tinting the back windows.

Yes it came from Erickson. The sales fellow was Mo, but I ended up dealing with Ryan the sales manager the most.

It has been exceptionally cold this year. It was about -19 with a -30 windchill saturday night when I picked the car up. The funny thing is the driver had to drop a car off at a Ford dealership, so that is where I picked it up from.

I hope the Ford people had a good long look at it too! Eat your hearts out!

Congrats, why did you have a battery discharge? Looks like you really love your EX35. Nice color.

I am not sure why the battery was dead. Apparently the car was at the dealership for 110 days so maybe this had something to do with it, or maybe it was playing with all the toys.

I finally got the 3M kit on this week. The kit is fairly expensive for this vehicle and takes quite a bit of time to install. For anyone considering going this route this is what I had done.

The kit includes, full bumper, hood (I had the 24 inch bikini cut done, instead of the 18). A portion of the left and right fenders, backside mirrors, and top portion of the rear bumper, just incase of issues if hauling something.

My additions, Left and right front window pillars to the front top roof, which extends to the sunroof. The Black border around the windows/door frames, and the part I am most happy about is the guy cut a template for the shift knob. It does stick no problems and it is been fairly cold so I think if it wasn't going to stick this cold would have lifted it.

I can try and take a picture of the knob as it is nore 100% edge to edge.

I know the fellow that did the kit for me so I got a pretty decent deal. Retail on the regular kit is $1030 CDN. With the extras and deal I got it was $700.

Glad you had the wisdom to get the 3M stuff done. I did the same and do not regret it for a minute! Around here in BC they tend to use drain rock.. lol.. as "sand" on the highways and all surfaces are still looking pristine. Hope you get some spring weather soon!!

Thanks so much for the info, HondaGal!

How does this affect the "look" of the car? (If you can post pics of the car from different angles as well as the shift knob, that'd be appreciated!)

Cheers,David

I will try and take some pics, but keep in mind the film is clear the car is white. You can hardly notice it.

When I picked the car up, it was in the shop with super bright lights. Looking at the hood head on, I could not see the film.

The added expense is definately worth it over the long term.

Side note: We had a colder winter according to the records, so the city ended up putting larger rock/sand down. I am not sure what drain rock is but I imagine it is larger

Man, after reading this thread, I am feeling pretty good about living in Tempe, AZ. Cold winter here, too. I think, back in January, it dipped down to 39 one morning and probably didn't get much over 60 that day (F not C). What I hate most is having to put on sun block to go out in December and decorate the house for Christmas. I know it's pretty country up there, but just as an FYI -- we see MANY license plates from CN down here all winter - so they must know something! Enjoy your AWD. EX's are great crossovers; my wife LOVES hers and hates driving my M45 when I take hers in for service. I like her EX too but love my M... it's a guy thing, I guess.
