So, I had this old catch can lyin' around and thought, "How cool would it be to see some bright green in that sight tube?"

Is it fully functional? I thought it has to be above the Radiatior? Let me know I have one, if it works then I may just do it.

It works great! I had to drill a small (1/8") hole in the fill cap of the reservoir for venting.

And, no, it doesn't have to be above the radiator. Look at the BMW, for example. The E34 318's had a built-in reservoir on the radiator.
