Hey everybody. Ive been searching this site since i bought my car in 2008 and found it the best place for help and anything else 240sx. I have not posted in a long time but i have been working on a full color change all year and finally finished it. I paint for Ultimate auto body inc. so nights and weekends were the only time i had to work on it. As it is my only car that was also a challenge. Ive done all the work myself except the Sr swap that has been in the car since 2010. I really enjoy driving the car and it never gets old to me. The new color is a 2014 corolla color but i liked the pearl in it so much i doubled the amount of it. It changes from gold to green to blue on the side called Lapis Sunlight from PPG. I also added the Car modify Wonder Glare hood thanks to Gtr Garage of Portland. I could not be happier about the quality of the hood and its my favorite part on the car now. Except for the Version select sideskirts it has all oem type x aero. I wanted to post something about it and see what everyone thinks! Heres how it was in 2010. I had recently painted it a mercedes champaigne. It has been pretty much like this until now.Image
In the booth.ImageImage
Finished!ImageImageImage
It has been rainy all week so i finally got it washed and some good sun pictures taken yesterday.ImageImageImage
Here the gold side of the pearl is most visible with the sun shinning straight onImage
Our company logo airbrushed into the spoilerImage
Redtop with stock internals and T28. Many other small things. Cant get enough of the blitz Bov!Image
350z seats, Momo Corse wheel, Blitz digital boost controller and gauge and thats about it. I like it simple.Image
This hood could not be nicer! Id recommend it too anyone!Image
And my favorite picture!Image
I cant wait to hear everyones thoughts. Good or bad im open to it all. Its not going to change my mind on how i feel about the car. Im hooked and cant get rid of it!

Really well put together and a really clean car!
Is there suspension, or just bigger wheels/tires to fill the space?

Thanks! Yea the roof and mirrors are painted black with the same pearl over top of the black so in the sun they almost blend together. The first thing i did with my car when i bought it was paint the roof black to match the pillars. Ive always loved the two tone look with all the black glass trim. And yes it has megan coilovers but i recently switched to the enkei wheels which are staggered 17"/18". Im really happy with the staggered wheel look. Always wanted to try it.

Very nice work! I like how you did it on nights and weekends- and that it is your daily driver. Very unique and the pearl sets it off.

My suggestion- take that little shift knob off and repaint it your car's new color. I learned this from an interior designer for the Corvette, of all things. You want a little bit of the outside on the inside.

We had such nice weather today i got the car washed and waxed. Its been a couple months now ive been driving it everyday again and the paint is holding up great. Somehow nobody has hit it or opened a door into the side haha. i choose the backs of parking lots now. Image Image Image
Some other small details. I found that the ebay trunk spoilers for generic cars can be trimmed for a little roof spoiler that fits the hatch trim perfect. I payed 8 dollars for mine. Image
When removing the quarter glass the chrome 240sx letters got scratched a little but it was easy to remove the old tape and we had aluminum tape laying around that worked perfect. i love things like painted screw heads to match the car.Image
I was able to find two brand new belt moldings from nissan that had probably been sitting on a shelf for years. its sad how excited i was about these. No more water in my doors from the rubber seal falling off. I also got a oem windsheild molding at the same time. They were not cheap though haha.Image
Also Sem Trim black works great for refinishing the rubber trim on all the glass. It is easiest with the quarter glass and hatch removed. It made the car look some much better without scratched and dried out rubber.Image Image
I lucked out when i found a sunroof shade in a junkyard. Image Image Image Image
I found a set of emblems today so hopefully i can find time to paint them black this week and put them on. Ive also got a serious itch for a takata reclining driver seat. So i gotta save save save. Ill post some updates when the weather gets warmer. Thanks for all the positive feedback.

Im pretty sure im going to repaint them satin grey after seeing pictures of a skyline 400R. This ones my favorite picture now. Has the face of some kind of strange deep sea fish with the ice lolImage

We had some great weather today and the car was way overdue for a wash. So i got it all cleaned and another good coat of wax put on. Also changed my air filter today. It catches a lot of dirt through the headlight gap.Image Papasmurf the guages are plain white leds but they show up with a amber sort of glow through the plastic. I always liked the amber guages on a 350z so i stuck with them. its so much work to get the cluster out i havnt changed them in a while. I still think the wonder hood was one of the best purchases ive made. Image
I still catch myself turning around to look at it as i walk away lolImage
It seems like Nico has slowed down quite a lot. Im pretty glad the 240sx craze is wearing off. I got a little tired of every kid coming up to me and asking if i was building a Drfit car around 09-10. But i enjoyed the forums being more busy. Now it just seems like all technical questions. Its good to see some new owners still popping up that have the same passion i had when i got mine.Image
Thanks again for all the positive feedbackImage
