well this isnt realy SR20 related but, this is the only place i post and realy only place i read here=)

i just bought a 95 SE 5sp, in that dark green color.

perfict body, perfict interior. only thing is it has 168k miles on it.

but i picked it up for 4500, 4701$ out the door with tax.

good deal? body is pristine=) anycase i was wondering if all SE's came with limited slip in 95 or any for that matter. planning on going by the dealership and seeing if thay can tell me by the vin number. perfict candidate for a SR swap.

hehe thanx... im STOKED!

PS she isnt mine yet. good friend of mine was car shoping with me today and when we saw it, he didnt want it bought out from under me. so he bought it then and there in cash lol. she is that perfict. so now to go get a loan and buy it from him lol how to get out of sales tax now...

I believe 95 SE's were the only year were ABS and LSD came as a package together. With out the option of one with out the other. So if the car has ABS then it most likely has a LSD.

Look for an orange sticker above the fill hole for an orange sticker that will identify it as a LSD.

well we looked over the fill hole, no sticker. but than again there was so much crap under there in order to see anything we need to pressure wash her. i found out why she was 4 grand though.

well were to start.

first thing we did is tear her apart see everything thats hurting her.

lets see, front main seal is blown.

nocking/ticking comming from the valve cover. either its valves nocking, the timing chain bieng loose, wich could be causing detonation. and could be the reason im getting MASSIVE blow by. friend rings im thinking.

im doing a compression check today see how bad she is hurt.

i heard that the timing chain tensioner is plastick and wears out. could i possably get a new tensioner and use the chain thats on there. i just spent every cent i had on this car. nothing left for repairs for another week=P

well, you're gonna do a sr swap anyways right? so the motor is crap...at least it so crappy that it wouldn't recommended on running. Oh well, i'm still looking for a 240sx, 95ish up body style. So, you beat me to it. GL

375 BUCKS for the damn timing chain kit. WTF is that crap.

anyone know were i can get the whole timing tune kit dealy for under 300 bucks? im not planning on doing anything about the rings. just not gonna hot rod her for a month or six. but she should be good with the front main seal fixed and the timing chain tight again. im going to see if i can fabricate my own timing chain tensioner.

any info whould be good=)

OMFG!

ok. well even with all her problems we took her out tonight.

found a great parking lot, empty of cars but plenty of sharp turns, having to avoid those sharp death traps called curbs.

2 hours and the basics of drifting are down.

damn what a rush. will video tape the next session.
