I spent this Friday and Saturday driving to Burbank and back from Sacramento (400 miles/7 hours one way) to get a great deal on a like new burgundy interior from a 91Q. My 21 year old interior was starting to split at the seams and I had repaired a couple of rips on the driver's seat with burgundy leather from an owner parting out in South Carolina IIRC.

Joe bought this car with the rear end damage for $150 and removed the engine to swap into his 240Z. I paid twice that for the interior but it was a great deal for both of us. While I was there I got to spend the night with my mom in Manhattan Beach and visit with my 4 sisters one evening so the drive was worth it. The only downer to the trip was driving through a fog pileup on I-5 involving at least 30 cars and semis. I passed through about 15 minutes after the accident at 830am and the CHP's were too busy checking on injuries to have shut down the highway. It started with a semi rear ending a sulphuric acid tanker in an area west of Fresno notorious for heavy fog.

Back to the interior. I got front seats, rear seats, door panels and controllers, armrests, and two visors with unbroken vanity mirror hinges (both of mine are cracked). Joe also threw in A, B and C pillar trim but it will be in the trash this week. I can't see ever needing them. The leather on every piece is in near new condition except for a small amount of bolster scratches on the driver seat. They look as good in the pictures as they do in person. I'll be swapping out the seats this weekend and saving the rest as spares.

They looks great man, I love the color and the fact that it isn't the typical beige or black interior.

Great score! Hard to find excellent drivers seat on such old cars! Try a little burgandy shoe polish applied to an old white gym sock/towel and rub in to areas you say are scratched on drivers bolster-let it soak in and dry before buffing off remains- it should act as a dye to blend in the visible scratched area.

Goody for that price you should have taken the carpet and any other thing in the interior. As I never thought I would need the parts that I had to install in my car.

So keep every interior piece you have because you never know when you may need it!

My old Z is that Nissan color, it is really rich and after 27 years it still looks great and unique...I cannot believe how nice those seats are, that person must have either totalled the car with no miles or just took amazing care of the interior.

Thanks for all the nice comps! I'm looking forward to installing them.

The burgundy shoe polish on the scratches is a great idea. I'll try it first on one of the seats I take out and if it blends in scratches for burgundy it should also do the same for tan, black, gray, white and maybe even the rarer blue leather. Before and after pics to come.
