I just got my new Borla exhaust installed just a few hours ago. I love the sound this thing makes. Here's some pics I took.

Also, here's a vid of the stock exhaust and the borla. Lots of smoke on the borla becuase it was freaking cold outside and it was the christening.http://s265.photobucket.com/al...t.flvh ... al...t.flv

I never understood why Borla doesn't polish up the muffler/resonator. Specially the amount of money you pay for them.

please, if you could go on a highway and drive arround 60~70mph to see if the exhaust drones around 2Krpm that would be nice .

Is this just an axelback system? Does anyone have pics of the full stock set up?

Yeah it's just axle-back. The stock setup is exactly the same. You can see the stock muffler sitting on the ground in the one picture. I'm sure you could go and get a custom midpipe made if you wanted to.

Is it substantially louder than stock?

Also is there a resonator on the stock exhuast?

I have no clue about the resonator, but for the comparison of the stock exhaust vs the borla, check out the two links I posted under the pictures. The first one is the stock exhaust and the second one is the borla.

Very nice man. I am looking into exhaust myself. I think it just came down to the Borla and the Nismo Cat Back.

Does anyone know anything about the Nismo. Good luck or bad? Sound etc..?

The stock exhaust for the 3.5SE does not have a resonator in the mid pipe.

I havent had a chance to get under mine yet. Are you sure about that?

I was looking at illustrations on Stillen.com and there certainly is what looks like a decent size resonator in the front section after the factory cats.

Im trying to figure out a set up that will be slightly more agressive w/out being loud.

I have a Nismo resonator from my 3rd gen sedan which I could add on there, but I don't want to be cutting and splicing everywhere.

I still disagree. If you check courtesy parts the diagram clearly shows a resonator in the front section after the stock y-pipe.. Unforntunatly i can post pics to show what i am talking about.

Loop,

My apologies man... You're absoluetly right.

I was looking at diagrams that showed the resonator. I also couldn't understand how with all that straight piping and it is still so quiet.

The stock muffler really queits it all down.

Hey man,

Can you post another one with low slower revs? Id like to get a better idea of the midrange sound or even driveaways under load?

I think you are about the only one i've seen with just the borla axel back. Others have the full cat back and appear much louder.

rich, that sounds pretty sick man! I am having the hardest time trying to decide on an exhaust system for the car, and your video just made it that much harder for me!

Thats probably the best borla vid I have heard............

Hey borla guys--

how's your borla's holding up and sounding? still nice and deep? can you take another vid?

What'dya pay for your axelbacks and where?

for some reason (probably the video) rich2342's borla sounds MUCH deeper.

rich2342- did you replace the midpipe too or have anything else done to your car in those videos?

just added the borla axle back then when I put on the K&N intake the whole system got louder due to increased flow and then the Y-pipe and BAM Full fledged beast... I might be adding a resonator soon.

I have quite a few vids under justice2342 on youtube.

Nice, how much was the Y Pipe?

Install prices for the ypipe and for your borla?

Are you using the stock midpipe?

sounds real good. does it sound the same way on the videos in real life?

I installed the Intake myself

The Y-pipe was 80 bucks, but you have to find a shop that will break the law. It's illegal to remove a functioning cat.

Yes, It sounds better in real life.. and im using the stock mid-pipe.

i am also very curious how much you paid for that, their website has it at over 800

i would rather bank another 250 and just snatch up a greddy at that point ... 800+ for an axle back? it sounds boss but cmon now ... thats basically all your paying for, sound.

(not knocking ur decision making, i WISH i had the money to throw at this LOL, really does sound exactly like what i've been looking for)
