Soooo ive been looking for a cheap s13 for a minute now for a DD while I work on my s14. But this weekend i found a car i have been in love with sense i was 16 and i just had to buy it.
She needs some work, but runs and drives, and a huge plus is RUST FREE!
1987 Toyota Supra Turbo Targa Top 5spd. 220k with a recent rebuild and multi-layer metal headgasket with adjusted head stud torque.
Image

It needs shocks and bushing, i havnt decided if im gonna keep the TEMS system and go with the Tokico Illumina II or ditch the TEMS and find something else.

The break lights arnt working. My dad is comming over today to help my trouble shoot it.

I know its not in the Family but i love you guys and wanted to share. There are no decent toyota forums that i have found yet. +
Will get up more pics if ppl are interested.

It's a cool feature if you have the money to resurrect it, but it's really not necessary. The aftermarket controller for it is super hard to find, too...

Luckily my TEMS are functioning beautifully! Had a chance to play with it alittle this weekend. With the shocks being blown its too hard to tell the difference between the "normal" and "sport" mode, but the dampening is fuctioning, and most importantly the third dampening is happening as it is supposed to when hard accel, braking and cornering. That was a hella fun test LMAO. She gets sideways easily but is it soo easy to control!
Sense my fellow florida boi wants more pics I shall oblidge. Will take some today after work.

Nice! I LOVE MKIIIs. Nice to see someone fixing the one problem with the 7M rather than throwing out an otherwise great motor.

7m is definatly a torquier motor! Just needs a better head gasket, and poper torque on the head studs. Kinda suprising Yota didnt recall them considering the huge problem it was. Future reference to anybody looking to MKIII with the original 7m motor. Head studs need to be torqued to 75 ftlbs.

Sweetness. We can make everybody jelly togethor!!! You must get it soon! Then we get em togethor takes some pics and have a blast!!

Its funny the aurgument of the 7m vs JZ reminds me alot of the one between the KA vs SR.
Im still weighing the benefits of each motor. She might end up with a 1jz in there befor it is all said and done though.

lol. i've never really cared about the argument about the 2 motors. my take is, if i have an M, i'll just make it work til i get my hands on a JZ, because i like the JZ's better. If the man does decide to let me have the cressida, the first thing is making sure the 5M is in good shape.

oh yea, i def want an MK3 too. been on my list for at least 2 years now. i know it's not as long as you've waited, but i really want one too. i'm really not a fan of hatches, but it was the first hatch i fell in love with, so i feel i gotta have one someday.

Thats awesome I was thinking the exact same thing! Dude I just looked up the Cressida, and that is a hawt car. Im with you, i actually have never liked hatchbacks, and was searching for a s13 coupe, but i test drove one of these when i was 16 and my mom refused to buy it for me. Ever sense then i have been in love with them. You get an MK3 and ill hunt down a Cressida for myself. :dblthumb:

SWEET.
I had a Blue 88' Turbo. I prefer the post face-lift models meeself. . Easy and cheap to make stupid power on the 7m-T.

I frequented supraforums.com a lot.

Nice looking cars, but people always say theyre too heavy. I wouldnt mind owning one though. I also like the mk2 Supra. A friend had one in high school. Poor car was beat to hell, but it was lotsa of fun to drive in the rain!

Awesomeness! I wasnt excpecting so much supra love in here. Hell im getting more love from you guys then the three supra forums i joined LMAO.

Well no pics i worked on her until it got dark and my old 5.0 camera is s*** in the dark. I was working on the break lights last night and i think i figured it out. I did all the basics, visual inspections, fuse, bulbs, got a test light and checked that there was power going to everywhere it needed and it was. So i jumped the stoplamp switch under the break and THEY CAME ON!!!! So i figured i fried that switch. I picked a new one up last night from AutoZone ( ) but didnt want to squeeze my 6'6" self back under the dash last night. Will take pics today though! :dblthumb:
