Need a little help, as of now I'll have 4x Alpine Type R' 6.5's http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...26861

2x Alpine Type R' 12" http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...80979

What I need suggestions are for the 2 amps. Prefer to go right through BestBuy, as employee discount is a major factor, I need 1 amp to put out around 80-100 RMS upto 300 peak 4 channel @ 4 ohm. The second Amp to provide enough power for the 2 R12's. The subs run 500 RMS and 1.5k Peak, I'm looking at least 250 RMS for a starter on those, any suggestions?

FYI I understand the power of these components, please do not bash on system, just looking to do it right, as I see fit. thanks for any help you guys can provide

The RF P1000-1BD is 1 ohm stable so you could use it for your subs. Run everything in parallel for a 1 ohm load and you should have plenty of power. Maybe the P500-2 for the fronts or you can match those to a Alpine amp.

Alternatively, check the specs on the Alpine MRP-1000 to see if it will run at 1 ohm for a sub setup

If you want to run that much power, upgrade your charging system.

Bah!!!!!!!!

VERY valid concern with high-end systems. There seem to be numerous Rule of Thumbs out there with one being "it takes about 16 amps of power for every 100 watts of audio output" and another being "70 amps for every 1000w". From a battery perspective TermPro states an extra battery per every 500w and a DB drag article I saw stated one for every 1000w.

So, to have a "proper" high-end system utilizing the two amps I listed you would need enough electrical power to sustain 1000w for the subs and 250-500w for the front speakers. Total is 1200-1500 watts. Based on the above you would need 70-140amps for the sub amp and up to 35-80amps for the front amp to support peak power output. Considering you car probably needs 40amps to run you will need anywhere from 145amps to 220amps to run the whole system at peak load. Plus you would need at least 1 additional battery.

I'm laughing in general because most people who put in aftermarket systems never think about power requirements. Then they complain about dead batteries, toasted alternators and dimming headlights.

Oh. I was thinking you were laughin at me for mentioning upgrading like it wasn't needed. Now I understand! I made that mistake when I was younger. Didn't upgrade and my alt. shot craps after I think a year.

I think I went through 4 alternators and 6 batteries in my first car with subs and multiple amps. Hell, I think the damn thing only had a 75amp alt.

I'd probably go with the mrpm1000 or the fosgate that was already mentioned. I don't know wny you think we would knock your system it's a good solid plan.
