For while I was a bit down on my cars; my Q wasnt handling right ,despite some new suspension parts and my S13 was in need of some help.

But it all got better this weekend.

My Q got some new stuff in the last few months and it finally all coming together and my last couple suspecnsions things finally got it right.

The car handles and tracks like a champ now.Who would have thought a 4000 lbs car, can dance the way, i just made it dance today, on multiple tight +curvy airport accress and egress ramps..Felt so good!

And to top it off, while I am still ironing out some issues on te S13 with the help of some friends last nite made it all worth it..

when it drove into the lot all heads turned and evereyone crowded around the car and oohed and aahed.I feel my purchase is vindicated now.

Life is good again.

Here are some pics of it!http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....ser=8

Very nice Fred. Real sharp Q you got there! What's the purpose of the auxillary fuel cell next to the NOS bottle?

I drove it (much to the dismay of some residents of a quiet neighborhood near Fred's place). THat thing is scary fast, and makes me want a swapped 240 REALLY bad.

Fred,

What kind of issues are you still having? The 240 looks a hell of a lot better without all the crap inside from your banzai trip from the FL. :D Did you ever get the fuel smell issue settled?

What you have represents the epitome of cool. The comfort and luxury of the Q with highway mojo and the quickness and "nimbility" of the s13. You should track the s13 sometime. Maybe sign up for the next BMW school up my way? Come up with Mayhem. That would rock.

Ah...so you can flip a switch and choose which fuel to use, depending on what you're doing? That's pretty cool. Saves some cash around town and you're always ready to ZIP when the time comes. I assume there's some lead time after you hit the switch until the race gas hits the injectors? Or is it plumbed all the way to the fuel rail? Fred?

About the Q45:1)Yes, not only tha,t but the ECU notices the fuel cell is engaged and changes the fuelmapping to reflect an assumed minimum of 110 Octane, there are 2 seperate maps, whether the ECU "sees" the NOS switched on, or not.2)Mostly used to give some extra safety reserve when NOSing, in my main tank ,its always 93 or sometimes 923)Yes.4)No.

Fred's S13 is very nice and the power delivery is perfect.... just enough power to really have some fun.

The Q on the other hand... was dominating the highway with the 4 of us in it on the way from the airport thanks to some handy driving from Andy.

The Q still looks great fred. The S13 is looking much better. Good luck with the new car. I'm picking my new 240 up this weekend. Nick

He picked it up just before the Big Lex meet. He went to FLA and drove it back, IIRC.

Rex is correct...

Fred, you got the best of both worlds, luxury and a tight little car to have fun on the weekends... I can speak for everyone that we are all equally envious... Fome some reason the Q45t emblem and the T model looks especially cool on your Q, and I dont know why!!! Maybe because its the Freddymobile!! :D

I wanna take the S13 for a spin sometime, as I didnt get a chance during the meet.....

BTW, after driving your Q and seeing what a difference the active rear bar makes, I gotta get me one of those!!!!! It literally transorms the car, and there is hardly ANY sway!!!!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words!:blue

slw240: yes i just picked it up 3 weeks ago and drove it up from FL (long story).

Wes: You should drive my Q <now>. when you drove it, it had old upper links, needed an alignment and terrible tires..Now all replaced & its a <much> better handling car...:D

I dont know what sway youre referring to. I just know that my vibrating/wobbling old Q drives better than the minivan.

*sigh* I think I'll go back to writing my repair checklist.

Altiman, we're going out to Putnam Park this weekend. Check out the site: http://www.putnampark.com From what I hear, MayhemJ30 will be out there in his EVO. There is also a thread in the Meets section. Check it out and roll the 240 in if you can.

Fred, you never answered my question. Did you get the fuel smell handled?

No, We currently suspect a faulty gasket at the wastegate.

I might have to bring it to the HPH after the other stuff is done.

NICE Fred! I'm sooo jealous over that sr'd s13. I *really* want a SR swapped S13 or S14 dedicated track/mod car. Oh one day....

that wouldnt result in a fuel smell.

are you smelling unburnt fuel in the car?? or under the hood? check your fuel pump gasket in the hatch when those go out and you fill up sometimes it get strong in the car.

Repo didnt explain it correct ( sorry andy), its not a fuel smell but a LOT of exhaust coming into the car.And it mostly does it under boost.

Fred...:(
