I had purchased a 12in Alpine Type R 1600watt and a 1000watt Alpine mono amp a few weeks ago, and I finally got around to having it installed.

This was my previous setup: -Alpine 500watt amp, Type E 800watt sub

It was nice, the box fit very well and never moved, and there was plenty of kick, but I wanted moar. I will be selling it for $200.

So here is the new setup! It's a sealed fiberglass box, built to the volume specifications of the Type R.

It is controlled both through the "bass" tuner on the stock head unit, as well as this tuner that got hard wired here:

It really helps because this thing can put out more bass than I would ever need.

Here is a crappy digital camera video... Rise Agaisnt in the back ground

This was done at Audio Heaven, SD, on Clairemont Mesa. Same guys that did Rob's setup! Tremendously recommended

I would like to hear everyones opinion. Oh, and please move this to the Audio section if it needs to be there...

NICE!

Do you not put stuff in the trunk though? Id be scared not to have some sort of cover over the speaker, but then again i shove stuff in the trunk like its nobodys business!

No doubt a dead hookers stiletto could do some real damage to that nice new sub.

Looks great man! I was planning on doing the exact set up as you but on the other side. Where did you place your amp?

It's hiding

They hid it on the left side of the trunk, under the carpet and foam. They trimmed the black foam piece that's in there to make the amp fit very snugly.

Which is quite an accomplishment considering the size of the thing. It's huge!

How much did the fiberglass box cost? I am going to get estimates at local shops where I live, but would like a number to compare with to see if I am getting ripped off.

Thanks in advance

you're coming to the meet right? I'll be passing out cards that will give you 10-20% off anything in the store (Car Audio Heaven, Clairemont Mesa Blvd) on the day of the meet... just tell them that Robert sent you!
