Well, I have had the 94Q for about a week and put 1100 miles on it. Bone stock. Pearl white with tan interior. 83k miles.
This is the first Q I have been in other than my 90 with 159k miles.
Some observations:
Highway gas mileage: 94Q 22mpg90Q 20.5 mpg
I think the 90 is quicker off the line, but the 94 is smoother.
When I first got in the 94, my brain said this isn't a Q, the seats area radically different. The 90 seats are more form fitting, however the 94 seats grew on me in a few days.
The 94 is smoother and quieter, of course it has less miles.
The 94 sound system is a bit better with the tweeters, however not quite as powerful as the 90 "rebuilt" Bose system.
The 94 grill is a nice addition, especially when you see the cars side by side. My 90 is black. I have always been fond of black cars, however this is a nice change.
One of my first stops was to get a can of BG44k. It was 25 dollars at the dealer. Oh well.
The cars has Goodyear Aquatred 3's. It was owned by an older gentlemen. He had the 60k service done at 52k. Too much.
It was nice to be able to call Infiniti National to get the service history on the car. I slipped my local dealer a 10 spot to get me the service history....but it was wiped out on his computer. The national folks were very helpful.
Just a couple of questions, if you have read this far. The car seems to idle around 625.. this seems a little low, but is alright for now... Any suggestions?
Also, now that I have a sunroof that is working again, what do you folks use to "grease the rails"?
Finally, I will begin to do the requisite fluid changeouts in the next couple of weeks.
My son turns 16 Wednesday and gets the keys to the 90Q (with the slipping transmission---although is is primarily driving it in 3rd..and upshifting to 4th when reaching speed.
The 94 Q is a very nice car. I am happy. Paid 5800 dollars, still have to do taxes and tags. Only thing I hate is the chrome pie pans...hate the pie pans, period, but never seem to have the money to upgrade.
