Whats up guys? my name is Jared and i just recently bought my second 240sx for $300. I am not new in the 240 world, i actually know quite abit about these cars. my love for them came from the purchase of my first 240. it was a 1989 coupe se with HUD that only worked when it wanted to. (the capacitor in the back of the cluster was going out) Sadley, on my 18th birthday, i was hit in the rear sending my car sideways and rolling 7 times. I climbed out of the wreckage with only a cut on my hand and said, "I will own another one some day." And now, i do. exactally one year latter, i finally found one that i was happy with. It is a 1990 coupe xe gun metal grey with sixteen inch TSW wheels. Yes i only payed $300 for it but, as they say, you get what you payed for. The original single cam was locked up and it is a Fail-o-Matic. I put some automatic trans fluid in the spark plug holes and mannaged to get the engine to turn over but i only have compression on the back cylender. So I sold my 1988 Mazda Rx-7 convertible to buy a engine and five speed swap. i bought a running ka24e (single cam) for $300 and found every thing needed for the five-speed swap for $270. All i have left to do is pull my old engine, drill a hole in the fire-wall for the master-cylender and install all of the 5-speed parts. I will get pics up as soon as i can and post them on the progress. so far all i have accomplished is removing the cracked dash. got one with ZERO cracks :) only one i have seen like that. wish me luck!

starting on my 5-speed swap today after i get the old engine out of the way. really wish i had the money for a Rb. got a Vg30de sitting in the shed but i know it would take alot of fab work. plus i can get more torque out of a straight 6 as opposed to a v-6

coming along pretty good. got the pedal installed but i got a question, will it matter if i don't have the switches on the pedal assembly? i have them but i dont thing i have the plugs on my wire harness. got my engine and trans removed and starting to get my new set up ready. trying to find out what size hole saw i need for the firewall where the master cylinder goes after that ill be set. if all things go as planned, the 240 should be on the road my this coming weekend. but every body knows how these things usually go, something always goes wrong. i will get pics up as soon as possible thanks for any help

No you do not need to worry with those switches. It is the clutch interlock switch that keeps you from starting the car without the clutch pedal pressed down. If you don't hook it up that's fine, just remember if you park it in gear so you don't turn the key and jump in to a curb or parked car. That's how I split my bumper back in high school lol.
