I finally got my 04 M45 home yesterday. As I posted earlier, I was on a mission to find the cleanest black 04 that I could find and this was it. I paid $24,200 but the car only had 14,636 miles! (verified by both carfax and autocheck)

[IMG][/IMG]

The car has the premium and technology packages including XM radio with an active XM subscription that the dealer didn't even know about.

I know that some people don't like the factory wing and splash guards, but I really do think that they give the car a much sportier look.

I had purchased a set 20" wheels a couple of weeks ago to make the car really stand out from any other car on the road.

The only other thing that I'm going to do is to tint the windows all the way around and maybe something with the sound system because the Bose system is not that great. I think that my wife's Murano has better sound. But that's my only complaint.

The previous owner literally was an old lady who didn't even remove the blue protective plastic on the door sills! I removed the plastic and voila! Brand new door sills. She must have never put anything in the trunk either because the trunk mat is like brand new.

I would definitely appreciate any comments or suggestions. I'm glad to be here in a forum that really appreciates the beauty and rarity of these cars.

Hello,Welcome amigo. That is a superb 04'. If you do not already have an extended warranty, highly recommend the Infiniti Elite warranty. Should be real reasonable considering the mileage. If it makes you feel better, I paid more for mine last Feb with ten thousand more miles. Same options minus the wing and with the natural wood trim. Checked out domain, looks great.Congrats and Welcome,M.L

Sweet Ride. That is the first time I have seen the black wood accents all over the car. Was that an actual option or dealer add on?

First of all... Welcome! Your car looks great! The wheels and the dark wood trim package really make your car stand out.

To sji, the extra wood accents are aftermarket / dealer installed. I have a kit for mine with the natural wood. I've only added the one piece on the glove box. (I found a kit on ebay dirt cheap) The other pieces seem to be too much (and some pieces just look really cheap). I've thought that the carbon fiber set might be a good look with the natural wood. Otherwise I think you lose the elegant understated look. The whole dark wood package doesn't jump out as much so it really works well and doesn't look like it unbalances the feel of the interior.

I am definitely planning on getting the Infiniti Elite extended warranty. I talked to the dealer and a 7 year 84,000 mile warranty is going to run $1950. My factory warranty runs through July of 08 so I'll be purchasing the extended warranty sometime in about April.

I do have a question about the XM radio though. As I mentioned, there is an active subscription right now, did these cars come with a lifetime subscription or should I expect that its going to cut out one day?

One other question that I had is that my car comes with the tire pressure monitoring system. I know that the sensor is attached inside of the stock wheels. Can I take the sensor out of the stock wheels and attach them to the aftermarket wheels so that the monitoring system will get a reading from those wheels?

congrats on the car, and how much for the blue protective plastic you ripped off? I'll buy it. lol Nice pics of the car and Black is Beautiful!

I notice that you have some aftermarket wood work. That is clean! I love that in grey.

As for the tps (tire pressure sensors) yes you should be able to use them. I took mine out after false readings about a year ago.

Most likely its a lifetime subscription. The lifetime comes with the radio not the owner. I bought a 2004 M45 Black/fawn 2/07 with active Sirrius radio. Still loud and clear. Records show a lifetime contract was a $500 option in 2004. I hope these contracts survive a Sirrius/XM merger.

Hello,My car has XM as well that has been active since purchase. I would guess that it is lifetime. I have an XM account and have not had to migrate it over going on almost a year. Fingers crossed. Truly impressive mileage or lack thereof. Yours and Manok's Twilight Blue 04' are dueling for lowest mileage around.Welcome Again,Mark

Then I won't drive it for the next year so that mine can be the lowest mileage in the country! Just kidding.

My Nav system currently has the Nav version 6.2 disc. Is there an upgraded version and where can I get it?

Hello,Perhaps purchase a RV and use it as a toad. Zenrin is the O.E.M supplier for the nav system. You can order directly from the site.Cheers,M.L

When I bought mine it had 11,400 miles. Of course that was three months ago. Now it has 17,000 cause I can't stop driving it long distances. I love this car.

There is a guy on craigslist that is located in Seattle selling the Zenrin 6.6 Nav upgrade for $50. According to him, it is a copy of the original disc that he guarantees to work perfectly. Does anyone else know anything else about this guy?

I bought a copy (burned) of the v 6.4 at the time it was released and it worked fine for about 4 months, then it started to freeze up. Be careful. You will also need the upgrade CD ROM before adding new versions.

Well actually, I almost bought the car that became Manok's. I even sent him an email to razz him about it. Instead I bought mine a few weeks ago with 9300 miles for 24K (less than half what it cost originally). Has the XM radio and every other option including the laser cruise. Weird thing is that the previous owner was Infiniti and it was leased through Infiniti.

I've been lurking but decided to register.

Hello,Welcome. Are you sure it was not a dealer buyback? It probably was a Infiniti exec's car. That being said, the other time the previous owner is the manufacturer is then. Matters not, helluva a price on a practically brand new car.Cheers,M.L

Gorgeous looking car! Smart idea to shop around a find a low mileage pampered car, should take good care of you in the long run. I would leave the M45 badge on, just to represent for all the 1st gen M45 owners!
