Alright here it goes, I had gotten my car out of storage about two weeks ago now, over the winter I replaced the IACV gaskets and intake mani gaskets. I also put the KADE Throttle body on but the problem is, is that my car won't idle at all. I start it up in the morning and it will idle at like 1000rpms and when I drive it around and put the clutch in at a stop sign/light it spikes up to 2500rpms!! What do I do, I have already adjusted the tps, and the Idle air screw and none seemed to help!! I can't stand it, I can already tell my motor is suffering and one thing I was thinking is that my altenator bearing is crapping out on me and it gets really hot after I drive it for awhile, could the resistance of the alt bearing make my car idle so goofy?!!

You said you already adjusted the TPS and Idle air screw but did you do it according to the FSM or just by ear?

AGREED

I would also check the throttle plate and make sure it isnt stuck open. I would also check out the throttle cable(being that you did play with the TB)

Yeah, definitely getting more air than it needs.

Heres what you do. Look on the bottom of the throttle body. Underneath and at the back there is a very small vacuum port. Its very easy to miss. You will need to get a pair of needle nose pliers or something and fit a rubber nipple over it or something, then use a zip tie to secure it in place. Once you seal it properly, you should be all set. Best part of all, is this should only take you about 3 minutes and cost under a buck. Enjoy!

are you turning the screw based on what FSM recommends(removing power from the IACV motor... turn screw then repower?)........sounds like a bad IACV

is this the AC on partor the main unit toward the front of the car?

God, all those idle valves just fail at life. I swear every time something goes wrong with someone's car, its because of one of them.

I agree, they suck, I did just what the FSM told me and then put the power back to it, and it spiked again! I'm just going to leave it unplugged

Good call man. Summer is right around the corner so the cold start thing won't even matter in about a month.

Wow, so how does one come back from a failing IACV? Are you just limited to good weather or is there a way to repair replace it?

You can try one off a b13 sentra or something, I heard one of those fits, but don't quote me on that. Its gotta be in a sticky somewhere. My car has always been a bit of a pain to get started on cold mornings. I don't really mind.
