Hey Guys first post, first let me just say that my xterra was a great truck. I got 367000 miles before the motor failure and a lot of those miles were pulling trailers for play. I did however have to put 4 superchargers on it during it's lifetime. Now for my question.
I have a 2003 4WD SE with the supercharger. Are there any other replacement options for the motor. As I stated earlier the supercharger only lasts about 100k miles and the motors that came later have more HP with no supercharger(not to mention that the supercharged motors are more expensive) I will have to pay to have the swap made. If not I will just put the same type of motor back but I figured it was worth asking. Thanks in advance.

check with company called ATK got a long block motor from them for my old twin turbo Z cheaper than nissan crate motor and had all issues the ZXTT had originally and they know motors have good warranty and they may be able to tell you if there is better engine replacement for the super charged one.

For ease of wiring you could go with another VG33ER but if that's not your cup o' tea anymore I would suggest the VQ35DE out of a Pathfinder. More power and size-wise it will fit with no problems.
