So after doing much research and seeing that viberations around 60-80km/h were going pretty insane even on 2WD on my 02' QX4, i figured the U-Joints need replacing.

After the driveshafts were taken off, the Driveline guys were going to put the new U-Joints in and balance the driveshafts but now they say that the Shafts been so bent that i need new Driveshafts and the old ones are beyond repairable..

Quiet Frankly i dont buy that Crap and i want to know what you guys think.

My truck has had 169xxx Km and i dont think that i have done any offroading, just some unpaved roads in the North of Alberta! in the last two months...

Driveshafts? You have a 2WD, you should only have one driveshaft. Why don't you crawl under and see how bent your driveshaft really is?

No no, I have the 4WD version... and i saw the driveshafts, it just needed new U Joints according to my calculations.

You're telling us you can see a bend in the shaft without measuring it. "U" joints are they tight, wobbly, do they list to 1 side? The shaft (rear) would be more problematic because of the length. Were both shafts removed and inspected between centres, looking for a wow along the length?

Okay so i was really freaked out but turns out that my mechanic was just screwing with me, he got the Ujoints replaced for both shafts, (total 4) and got them rebalanced.

Now my car drives like melted butter.. no vibrations in 2WD or 4WD.

Cost me 600 CAD!!!!

And i called Infiniti who then told me that new driveshafts are $1150 for front and $550 for rear. On top of that i had to wait 6 weeks for front for it to shop from japan.

anyways long story short, My car is good now!!
