Leaving work it was getting hard to shift and 10 minutes later pulling up my drive way it went completly. It wont shift and the clutch pedal just hits the floor with no resistance and doesnt come back up. It happened once before. It was the slave cylinder. but I replaced that only... hmm.. 10 000 miles ago? I havent had a good chance to look at it yet but anyone have any ideas? I know the throw out bearing needed to be replaced as well but cant see that affecting it in the least. SOO???

is there fluid in the reservoir? i doubt that the throwout bearing would've caused that without previous symptoms so...clutch slave cylinder or a leaking clutch line that doesn't hold pressure when the clutch is pressed.pump it a few times and see if you have a leak.

Haha this is so strange I can only laugh. But yes, right when it broke down i checked the resivior and the lines and all that and it looked good. I just removed the intake to get a closer look and the slave cylinder is not leaking or anything. But the throw out bearing fell to pieces! the reason the clutch goes straight to the floor is because the slave cylinder is all the way out the when the fork tried to I guess dissengage the clutch the bearing finally had it and just broke!

If anyone remembers the thread a few montsh ago where I ended up changing the wheel bearing and other things. (which needed to be changed anyway) but the noise I was describing was the throw out bearing..

I dont think the last guy to change the clutch replaced the throw our bearing becasue like I said before. the clutch is maybe 20 000 miles old. but oh well. I guess it could be a good opprotunity for a write up? haha. I looked around and it didnt look like it has been done yet? has it?

oh! and how many times do you think the flywheel can be resurfaced?? I would assume when the previous owner did the clutch he had it resurfaced. so it has probably been done once right?

This happen to me. It was not the flywheel. The throwout bearing froze and burned through the fins of the pressure plate causing the dead clutch pedel. Did you hear funny noises from the car while driving? That could have been this problem manifesting.

damn, i never had transmission probs like that before...on any car maybe a burnt clutch but didn't think that the bearing could get that bad.anyways since you'ro gonna have the transmission apart i wouldn't go with resurfacing the flywheel - gt a lighter on pretty cheap around ebay.

well its in pieces and the clutch fork is bent. I called the place I usually buy parts from because its almost always a quarter of what Nissan wants. and they dont even have it listed. So I phoned a local dealer and there is not a single clutch fork in North America. Its in Japan and will be here in two weeks. I was also thinking of bending it back and welding up some reinforcements on it? bad idea?

have you tried courtesy parts? if you're talking about the withdrawal lever it's $37.43, part# 30531.
