Hey everyone,

Im up in Canada near the Toronto area, I purchased a set of pirelli all season tires from a well known and reputable tire and rim shop. The idiots put summer performance tires, I did not even realize, it just snowed for the first time, I put the car in snow mode, and it's and X so I have the AWD, the car did a 360 and slid right into a ditch, I was with my kids too, with very little snow on the ground!

I have a cracked bumper, bumper needs repair/ to berepainted, what scared me was all the safety sensors (auto cruise control, auto brake prevention) stopped working, and the IBC lights went on which, it said clean sensor, I did a car wash, it worked then stopped again.

I started the car up today and drove it around the block it seems to be back to normal.

Could I have damaged the sensors? Where are they located.

Also I did get a check engine light, 0420, I know this could be multiple things/cat converter, I put a can of sea foam it seems to have gone away. - Anything else inexpensive I could try to do?

Also I know the car has some slight play in it, I both sway bar links, anything else I could do?

I sent the shop a demand letter, he will give me a free set of Nexen winter tires, - Anyone ever hear of them?

Luckily all the sensors are back to normal.

The bumper I will have to get repaired and repainted.

Sea Foam seemed to take away the check engine light also...

Just giving you a set of tires? I would be pursuing damages against them for the physical damage to your vehicle due to their incompetence/lack of oversight.

Yeah it's possible your car sustained damage other than the bumper. Your exhaust system could've taken a hit as well; the front Y-pipe has the 02 sensors and secondary cats which could've been damaged. The tire shop should pay to have your car inspected by a dealership. I would have them get that car on a rack and look underneath.

Man that sucks. Hope you and the kids are ok. I have heard of those Nexen tires and if I recall correctly i had a set of them on one of my cars not long ago. Yep it was a set on my old Chevy HHR that was totaled in July. It's not anywhere close to as good a tire as Pirelli's. You can buy them at Walmart all day. I would make them fix my car and if they give you any crap hire an attorney and I bet they will pay up then. Did you file a police report?

Thank you, kids and wife are all okay.

I just took the car to the body shop, the damages will cost $700, I used to be in the car business so I have built a relationship with a local shop, and that was a good price.

The police officer gave me his information, if I do want to file a police report.
