I am customizing my car to my liking. I don't like a stock car at all. On my previous lexus es300 I installed dvd, nav, harddrive music box, and back up camera. My present 08 m35x comes with all of that already from the factory.
I have this urge to make my car different from the rest. I already have 20" chrome rims with tein H springs. I install hid fog lights and all interior lights are led. I am working on a pc and headrest monitors. I installed two monitors in the visors. I ran many wires and cables to the back and tomorrow I will start putting stuff together and see what happen. The factory stereo is not loud enough for me. I have to crank it up to the maximum to start feeling the music. I was going to amplify the 4 door speakers and upgrade the subs but after listening to a dvd movie I decide to boost the bass with some old school sas boozaka. I will leave the door speaker alone to keep the surround sound balance.
Some might say I am messing up a good thing but I have to add my personal touch to what ever I own.
I also did the hack.
here is some pics, they will be more when Im finish.

Sorry about that but posting pics on this site is not as easy as the other forums. It was late and i was too tired to figure it out

Now that most of what i wanted to do to my car is done, i hardly drive the car. This was not my plan when i bought the car.
This is the best car i ever had with features I wasn't expecting and i made it better. Now i don't want to drive it. I drove it
To work three times and once i got a bright orange sticker on the driver window saying "no parking tow away zone".
I park there many times in the past with other cars and no stickers were given. I know the infiniti stands out because its chromed out.

Im also trying to watch my mileage on the car. Trying to avoid driving it
unnecessarily. The car likes to drink gas and it only takes the premium.
The car came with tints and with the black leather interior it looks darker than it is. I get stop almost everytime I drive the car. I pulled to the side before the light and sirens come on.
The car pc was a success. I just loaded over 50gig of music and videos. The audio from the pc to the auxiliary jack at the back
Sounds very good. Only thing i don't like is the blank screen on the factory monitor when using auxiliary because Im only using the audio.
Jack and not the video. The pc have a dvi and a hdmi output. I sent both of those up front to the individual monitors in the survivors

Can I see the pics of the monitors in the visors? I was thinking of upgrading my nav screen to 2010 model so I can feed it direct from my computer and get the higher resolution instead of going through the video jacks. My computer only has display and hdmi port so I cant use something like a scando 800 without going through another conversion. Your visor monitors might be another option if its inconspicuous.
Also, as far as your issue with your music and the blank screen, just make a relay and switch that the amp and computer feeds first before they hit the speakers. That way you dont have to switch to aux, just flip the switch and you have your music with your nav screen still operational. Of course all other sounds from the car will be cut, but you can have your computer pick up on the navigation and phone operations as well.

I will post some more pics once i reach home. The blank screen was not a problem anymore. Once the car was in motion the black screen switch to climate control screen. That is a temporary hi-lo i have in the pic. My project is not finish. Waiting for better weather.

You might want to look into this for your visor monitors. A little cleaner and sleek.

I did the exact same thing with my ash tray. Im going to redo it though because I might be adding a switch. I also bought an extra snow switch for the center consol, I plan on using for some halo lights, but it's a good look to keep things clean if you plan on adding any more buttons.

How is that Logitec working for you? I have that in my house but decided to go with something else for the car as a backup to my touchscreen because the Logitec doesn't seem to want to always wake up

The computer have hdmi and dvi output to the monitor. I went with the liliput so i could use the touch screen but i never set up the touchscreen. The keyboard works good for a mini keyboard. I have to redo my sound system. Getting rid of the sas bazooka that i had from since early 2000. The music sounds very clean coming from the computer. I was worry about interference.
