Calm down J. I doubt if you can buff it out if it's a gash as your wife says. You may have to send the wheel off to someone that specializes in repairing wheels. First see how bad it is...there is a method used with sandpaper but that's for small scuffs. Sorry to hear about that....I don't even have my M yet and I'm already afraid of this same call one day.

It's funny (sort of) that you posted this now. Just last night, I got home from parking my car in a down town parking lot. Where they TAKE the car. So anyway, there is now a gouge on my rear drivers side wheel.

In hind sight, I should have taken the car to a you park it lot (not them). But I was running real late to see a client (Jay knows what I mean).

Bottom line, sooner or later your going to get them. That,s when it's good to have the full sized spare/wheel.

Have a good weekend, and don't sweat it... cause it doesn't make it go away. It just makes you nuts when you think about it.

It happens, unfortunately.

After two years, I have given up worrying about the wheels and bumpers whenever my wife takes the car out.

Sigh ...

I have already had 2 wheels redone by a guy that does wheel repair.

The problem is (besides my wife driving the car), is that the tire does not really have a rim protector.

I have called infiniti and complained that if you just "glance" a curb, it destroys the rim.

I'm looking into different tires that might offer a bit more protection.
