my m30 has an electric problem..pleasseee help

hello to all of u out there..this website is great, i hav found some helpful hints here..let me just get to the point..i just got a 91 infiniti m30 coupe, 83k miles on it...my headlights work perfect but my parking lights donto work no more..they used 2, but now they wont..also my dashboard used to light up with all the buttons around it..but now it wont work..my shifter used to light up the gears, now it wont work..i checked the fuses on the bottom of the steering wheel but they all good..please, if u have any clue of wat might b going on, inform me..thank you very much for your time.... my name is miguel....THNX

u may have a bad switchthe 2 wires that work the parking are a green wire (15amp batt supply) and a green/white wire manual lables it G/W. that goes to all parking lights front and rear. sounds to me like the problem is somewhere in that path, but unless there was smoke let out of a wire somewhere id jus go with the switch idea.

as a check if ur gonna diy. use a paper clip and jump the two together should b pins 11 & 12 on the switch connector. or the two big ones on the end. jus b sure not to connect posative to negative

hey man, thanks a lotttttt for answering me...i didnt know this website was so effective..my only question now is..where is dat switch u talking about??? nuthin in my cluster panel lights up, or my gears by the shifter....thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

its the same switch uu use to turn on the headlights. its a multifunction switch.the first click turns on dash lights inside and marker lights outside. the second click turns on the head lights.... sounds to me like the first click dont work.

they are never fun to get to... cause u gotta tear into the dash and sometimes remove the steering wheel. im not sure on the m cause i havent taken mine apart. if ur luckey then u may just be able to turn out the whole arm... but ive only seen that on some domestic car. i think u gotta take apart the box around the colum and there may b a screw or somthin holding the arm in place. probly gotta remove the steering wheel.?? really not 100%, im jus thinking bout the way it looks.

its a 90. right now ive been layin low on the work with it cause i gotta get a steering rack from a j30. but heres my post on it just a project now but when its done zerothread/219919 soon ill b in action working on it again.
