Ok, I know how you guys like to see how things people do to their cars are done. So I thought Id help some folks out and show my car off at the same time. I just got my s14.5 back 2 days ago, and have finally put all my cheapo mods on. Let me tell ya, all those 0.5 hp deals really add up... just take a look. sorry about the rims, they will be gone soon.

all in all I think I spent exactly $122 on everything Ive done. heres some more pics. I made/installed everything, and I think it came out lookin pretty nice.

Heres some more for your viewing pleasure...

I also used a great product called SEAFOAM, available at NAPA. Do a Search for it if you want instructions on its use. Removed clutch fan and rewired stock electric. Battery to trunk cheap and better way. Custom cold intake I made myself (thank you god for inventing the dremmel) from old honda parts. The most baddazz weight reduction in the world, i estimate I should weigh in at 2600lbs?? Two Strut bars, polished throttle body, and tiny various maintenance stuff. If you have any questions on how to do any of this stuff I can take more pics to help ya out, email me at [email protected]

why would you invest all your money on all that body work and keep the lame bling wheels and monster truck height?i do like the color though.i think you should sell the car to a real enthusiast.

by the way, my car is an automatic, so feel free to make fun of it.

I like the color of the car, but your engine bay looks like crap. You should have gotten rid of that rust first. Its going to haunt you later on.

Man people need to read a little before they start typing, anyways. I like the color and the body work so far, I agree it does need side skirts though. It definitly needs to be a little lower to the ground. But so far man I'd say your off to a good start with what you have. Just for the record I'm doing my car the opposite of yours, meaning that my car has faded paint but some really nice Q45 calipers and slotted rotors and a complete 5 lug conversion. I like to see a cleanly built car wether it be for the circuit or the carpet.

alright guys, I dont plan on using the wheels much longer. reason theyr on is cuz my stock ones were s*** and I wanted good tires for autocross. anyway, Im still looking for some good sideskirts for it and a rear apron or something to complete the outside. the engine wont be here much longer, all this is temp till the rb25 is in the garage. there is no rust on anything accept the bat. tray which will be out very soon. for some reason my engine idles funny. It runs beutifully whenever I drive accept at about 1500 rpm and below. I havent quite got the fan running correctly, but it is working. Im pretty sure its a vacume leak and plan on checking tonight. Ill post more tonight.

awesome work. actually, if you had some sideskirts and a rear bumper, it would look really cool, even with those super chrome wheels. and a bit of lowering.

another thing, I scrape the bumper so much if I lowered any, it would disintigrate. I know this is going to happen anyways, so I plan on getting the strawberry face bumper made of poly urethane, b/c it looks alot better and the urethane will stand up to abuse better. then Im throwin some coilovers on it with the body work.

as Ive said before, I dislike the rims just as much as you guys. I plan on trying to score a set of the nismo 5 spoke bronze rims, if I can get them cheap enough. I fixed my idle problem too. It was a vaccum leak, on the small filter on the left, there was supposed to be a hose going to the intake tube to create vaccum. Ill post a pic later. Right now Im trying to replace the brake line I snagged trying to route my 2 gauge wire throught the firewall. Its being such a huge hassle just to fix a stupid little mistake, Im still not even done after 2 hours. Anyway, thanks for all the compliments, but more importantly, thanks to all those who did writups on how to install all this stuff, you are the greatest!!

I totally forgot to mention the reason for the conversion. I wrecked my car in Oct. 31 last year, damaging the front beyond repair. Since I know a body shop guy, I figured I could get all this done for pretty cheap, and it was. Out of pocket the has cost me a little over 2800 bucks, including changing paint color, cost of kit, and installation and much body work. Not a bad price if I may say so. Anyways, heres the pic of what I did to fix my idle problem. Just compare to the other pic to see what I did.

$2800???????? seems a bit pricey to me for just the front end and a paint job. How good of a paint job is it??

car used to be white, changed it to Lambo Grigrio Avalon grey met. Great paint job, all jams and everything except engine bay, but thats getting done when the KA comes out. Also, I got the kit from Extreme Dimensions, I DO NOT RECOMEND you get this kit from them. Sh!tiest quality fitting kit Ive ever seen. Took an a$$load of hours to make it finally look pretty danm good. I figured it to be about 5000 bucks worth of work/supplies, plus the cost of the kit made it 7000, 2800 a bit pricey??? Cmon dude, maybe youll have to look at the car to see what I mean. Anyways, hoped I helped some people out trying to do the same as me.

Very good work on the car.

Don't listen to these chumps who diss on your car because they dont like some small aspect of it, or think they know better or something. Aside from that, yeswepromise, to each his own. If he wants to get a kit first then let him, as you know, he was in a major accident, it wouldn't have costed much less to rebuild the normal front end anyway. Saying he should sell it to a "real enthusiast" is just an ignorant thing to say. As you said, you car actually is a POS, so you don't really have any room to talk.

Hope to you updating us on the RB some time soon Josh.

Wow lots of haters on this guy... the car looks great... I would like to have seen the stock S15 front bumper on there but it still rocks... And the rust is at the battery tray... most are rusted there... take out your battery and check it...

2,800 isn't bad at all for a good paintjob and lots of body work plus he had to get a conversion hood, fenders, and lights... c'mon guys! I had a rear 1/4 replaced and it was 2,100 from the shop...

nolaw did you do somehting to piss everyone off? I like your stuff man... don't let everyone get you down

$2800 IS pretty cheap for a front end and a paint job... that is, if the paint job is done well and isn't from one of those 1-day paint shops. Some dude rear ended my car resulting in this dent and this and the bodyshop is charging the other guy's insurance company $4300 just to fix that area.

But I agree, get some new rims and do something about that engine bay! Either turbo it up, or do a swap. People are going to want to run an "s15" only to be dissappointed to find out that it has nothing under the hood!

honestly, I havent done s*** to piss off anyone. I always search first, never ask ignorant questions, and generally try to help folks out it need. I think the 'haters' are just pissed cuz my car looks a little better than theirs, except for the rims of course. The paint took 2 days to do, and no mayco s*** either. It was done by a custom paint and body shop owned by a good friend, excelent quality work. You guys should have seen it before it was fixed up correctly, nothing lined up at all. Anyway, thanks toki and all the other non-haters out there who appreciate my car, and if you have time, check out my domain page and sign the guestbook.

oh man that's not just some dent man...sorry to see such horrors to your ride BruinBear714. Overall I think that strawberry face is pretty slick, I'd like to do it to my 180 too. Just though that the s15 conversion was a bit pricey so now I'm oogling over the GP Sports G4 built in ki (we'll see how that goes). Though my tuition and my SR comes first (coming into my car this christmas. Yay me). Yeah that price you got for the paint and the body work is really very good. I got quoted 3k just to get my car repainted and all the little dings pulled out. They do though, remove the doors, rip out the windows and redo all the trim and the works, let alone with some body kit. Geez. Kudos to you for such a deal and the slick front end. The rims, don't mind that too much either, since they're only temporary. My buddy was rolling around on 3 Racing Hart C5k's with one steelie for a while. LOL. Now that was cool...maybe.

These are the rims I plan on installing as soon as I start making some real money. I dont know if I should just wait it out for the RB25 or do some susp. and finish the body kit or what. I still havent had a chance to drive in a couple days to see how my mods went, damn brake lines. Well thanks for the support and knowledgable people that are willing to help others out.

Strange that you mention Extreme Dimensions. They had the most affordable S15 conversion Ive seen. But since you say it was crap who has one better??? I was planning on doing a conversion well after I got my modifications done. I like the idea if having a lighter hood and a larger open area in front of the intercooler since the stock S14 bumper blocks half of the intercooler. After seeing your car I see I would have to spend MUCH more than expected including the side skirts and rear apron to make it look right. Does the bumper really hang down that low you need a strawberry face?? That sucks.

well, the only place I know of that sells the kit would be VIS, but Im not saying there arent other places. just make sure to do your research and ask alot of questions to make sure you know what you are getting into.

On another note...

I really need your help guys.. Which sideskirts and valances should I start looking at for my car as I finally am making enough money to get some?? It has to flow good with the drift bumper, but I dont want something super low that will drag with coilovers. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to get this car looking its best (minus the bling of course)

Thanks, Josh
