Well the car is off the road, the garage is almost finished and i got money to spend. So its time to complete my KA-T pricelist and start ordering. Anything with a question mark means i don't know where to get it or how much it is. Anything with a price just means that's the best price i've found so feel free to mention somewhere to get it cheaper.

My goals are to push 350whp for next summer and build the block next winter. So while some may seem overkill, keep in mind my future goal is 500+whp. Also i'm fabing up a v-mount setup so yes a rad is needed. As of right now the car has some suspension work, Apex'i N1 catback and one peice aluminum driveshaft.

All prices in USD

Intercooler Core(24x12x3) or (21x9x3)=$169-$199 (Streetimports.com)Universal Aluminum Radiator=$175-$250 (ebay.com)Exhaust/Turbo Manifold=$136 (JGStools.com)1g DSM BOV=purchasedWalbro 255lph=purchasedTial 35mm/38mm Wastegate=$250 (Cheapturbos.com)T3/T04E 50trim .63A/R=$750 (Cheapturbos.com)Oil Return line (18")=$29 (JGStools.com)Oil Feed line (36" or 48")=$50 (JGStools.com)AEM EMS w/UEGO & 3bar MAP=$2027 (Phatka-t.com)MSD 72lb injectors=$85/each (JGYcustoms.com)MSD injector connections=$5/each (JGYcustoms.com)Fuel Rail=$135-155 (JGYcustoms.com)3x3" 90degree aluminum bends(IC piping)=?2x3" 90degree mild steel bends(downpipe)=?Clutch=???

Ok i'm sure i'm forgeting a few things, so feel free to add. My big concern is where to get the bends and of course what clutch to go with...I only put around 5000miles/year on the car so it'll need to be able to hold at least 450ft/lbs since i don't want to have to change it next winter with only 5k on it. I was considering the clutchmasters stage 5 that Struture got but i'm worried about it's short life span. Also i dunno if the 50 trim will push over 500hp so i'm considering a larger turbo since i already got a N2O kit to take care of lag. Feel free to suggest another turbo, but has to be under a grand since the EMS is killing my budget as is...

Also, any retailers that read this and would like to give me a quote please e-mail me ([email protected]) The more i can get from one place the better!

as far as aluminum mandrel bends, I got mine from Jeff over at 240sxmotoring.com. He's local to me so I just went over and picked em up, but he's got good service and pretty quick ordering. ...He's doing all the tig welding also, which is nice.

I was gonna say you'll need more than 3 90 degree bends but with the v mount setup probably not. I used a LOT more than that for my front mount (6 90 degree bends and a 45 degree bend).

The turbo you've chosen I think is a good turbo, but its probably out of its efficiency range for 500 hp.... although maybe not with the EMS. I'm shooting for 400-450 with that same turbo and the EMS-- hoping I can do it by 20 psi or so. Ivan over at sound peformance/phatka-t.com got 404 I beleive at something like 16 psi, so anything is possible with this EMS haha. I do know that you dont wanna go much higher than 20 psi with this turbo though, because it begins to get less and less efficient. I still think its a good choice for me though because I dont plan on pushing max max psi/power every time I drive the car.

The turbo oil feed and return lines can of course be had for much cheaper if you just shop around locally for the fittings and stuff, but then again the JGS kit is pretty easy (and of good quality). I ended up paying the money for the kit as well and its definetly nice, but it seems kinda stupid to pay almost 90 for 2 hoses and a few fittings...

Clutch I went with RPS for a 6 puck sprung hub design. I wanted a sprung hub because I plan on driving this daily, and a lot of people say that RPS did a good job splitting the difference between drivability and gripping power with this clutch-- I'll be able to tell ya for sure once I get this car on the road (pretty soon).

For this power level I would also probably spend a little bit more on a better flowing manifold, although its obviously not entirely necessary-- maybe you should look at that boost designs kit?

When you go to cheap turbo, ask Ken (pretty sure thats his name) if you can get some sort of package deal with the turbo, IC (they have nice PWR cores there), and wastegate. They're really nice over there and willing to bargain on some stuff. I was able to pick up a package deal that included the same turbo you want, a 30x8x3 PWR intercooler, the same wastegate you want, and also HPC coating for the turbine and a 360 degree thrust bearing-- all for $1,374. Not a bad deal at all when you add up what I got. Prices have gone up a little bit since then, but they are definetly willing to work with you on prices there if you spend some money with them-- so dont just order on the website and call it a day.

As you know, you are forgetting a whole ton of little things that add up like crazy... Just to name a few you will DEFINTELY be needing a better ignition setup at that power level, including a box, coil, wires, and plugs- all that together adds up to a pretty penny. Also think about battery relocations, your downpipe, gauges, welding labor, a rebuild kit, LSD, silicone connections for the IC piping with clamps, belts/hoses/fluids/oils, various fittings, a new battery, various tools that you probably dont have (gear puller? timing light? torque wrench? engine lift or stand? etc) etc etc etc.... its a long list.

Anyways sorry for the huge post- good luck man!

i've had my clutchmaster stage 5 in for close to 5k mi now i think. i was dialy driving it for the past couple months. been to 2 drift practice events and the drag strip 3 different days. with an average of 7 runs per day. two of those days on slicks and one day with over 350rwhp. i would say the clutch is lasting jsut fine.

Thanks Fiznat, huge post but filled with good info. I know there's a bunch of little stuff i'll need, but not as much as you mentioned. I have a engine lift and stand, welder to do my own fabrication and pretty much every tool i'll need for the project. The battery is already in the trunk and my 240 has a vlsd. I'll rely on the laptop connected to the ems for a lot of data so i'm not gonna run many gauges.

I think at 350whp the ignition will do fine, i'm more concerned with it running good and upgrade these things later. However i am going to do the plugs/wires.

I'm not to interested in buying a manifold, quite looking forward to making one myself. I will be trying to copy the design of the BD since it seems to be one of the better ones out there.

I have noticed the prices on cheapturbo.com have gone up, i believe the 50trim was 550 a few months ago. I'm worried it will be maxed out too much if it does make 500whp, but i don't know of another affordable turbo that will push 500whp but be streetable and efficent at 350whp...

I was thinking the oil lines were a bit much, i'll have to see what i can find localy. The fuel rail i could make also if i knew where to get some rail stock.

I'm gonna do the timing chain and switch to the new design for the guides and such. And of course new belts.

Right now i'm concerned with getting the big ticket items. The rest can be bought paycheck to paycheck since this will be a 5month build up.

I look forward to seeing how you find the clutch...

yes the stock ignition can go up to about 22-24psi. you jsut have to dcrease the gap ont he plugs. im running a msd 7al-2 because i traded my btm for it striaght up

go with ngkbkr7es plugs for those power levels

I've never ordered from these guys but you can get the 38mm tial wastegate for $210 - $220 unless your getting a colored one.http://linux.forcedperformance...-TiAlTurbo Calculator has that Garrett Turbo's for $579

It's not much of a difference but might save you a few bucks.

Thats what i was thinking Stucture, just run a smaller gap for the time being. I'd like to eventually use the aem ignition, just to keep it all working together good.

I was thinking magnacor plug wires, any thoughts?

Thanks for the links okis14. Anyone ever deal with "turbo calculator"? I know FP is on the up and up...
