I wish the wait time was a joke but it's not.

I'm thinking about going with doluck double sixes or sf challenges in some 18s by 10 to 11 up front and 12s or so in the rear.

Nah man, I've been "told" there are a few guys on zilvia that already have one they just are getting painted. We'll see. They also "say" that a few of the guys are putting them on verts but we'll see.

Update: Got the car pulled somewhat apart so that I could get some measurements for the rotisserie in the mean time, I got a really nice day the other day so I took the new dollies out and put my girlfriends coupe on them to try them out before I put the vert on them to tear it down fully. Some of the fold in the under body was crushed on her car by improper jacking by the previous owner so I had to fix that with a pair of pliers first but here is the final results.

Here they are on the drives side as far apart as possible.

No hating on my cheap jack, I ordered a nice one when I realized my good floor jack somehow disappeared in the move.

Here is the fit on the underbody, everything held up perfect, no denting or bowing from the car, and not even a creeeeek from the dollies

Here is me under the car on a creeper with plenty of room if I wanted to work like that.

A look under the car to the other side. I can turn these differently to give me more room between them or more room to work around the suspension.

Another picture of them on the folds sitting nicely in the dolly tops.

I actually moved the one towards the front of the car back a little bit as we later took the front of her car off to start her S13.4 Kouki conversion. The best part is, I just told her what to do and she is doing the work. haha

Here she is getting her hands dirty

Learning all the fun stuff involved in body work

And now all done and stripped out. The good thing is I even made her drill out her own spot welds. hahaha

No hating on her wheels/setup guys, the car was a ricer/drifterwanabee rescue. And you can peep my new two tone in the back ground. haha

Next up Vert Tear down.

Don't hold your breath, my hooked emailed me a few days ago and said it could probably be longer. I talked to a guy on a different forum that starts with a Z and he said he waited over 5 months for his, from the same place I ordered from.

Doesn't really matter though, its not going on the car till mid summer anyway.

Alright guys a little update on the car, I've have started pulling it down completely after chasing a voltage drain for weeks, only to find it was a seat belt light wire under the passenger seat. But I locked down all the other people I need for the build process including a media blaster and a great body and paint man. Here are some pics of it in pieces.

Some of the rust around the top of the window frame

So I'll have the car completely stripped out interior wise by the end of the day tomorrow, and should have the motor and engine bay stripped by mid week. Then I'll get the car up on a rotisserie and pull everything off the underside and its off to be media blasted.

What media? Sand? glass oxide? aluminum oxide? soda?

I was told that plastic was the best for removing all the old rubberized under coating and any bondo that "might" be on the car.

weird, I occasionally do media blasting for my work, and we never used any plastic media.

I would personally assume glassoxide or soda would be the best choices for anything on a car body.

See I've had people tell me that too, but when I talked to several places, including hot rod shops, high end paint and body shops and blasting shops, I was told that different methods were used on older cars that didn't have the same types of paints and sealants as anything post-1980's ish. So in the end after having enough people tell me that a plastic media was what I needed to use, I felt like this was something I needed to leave in the hands of the pros and go with their advice.

To be honest I was originally going to sand blast it myself with just a truck load of sand. haha.

Sand does'nt break down quite as easy as glass bead or soda, that's why soda is used on cars quite often because it breaks down so quickly and is already pretty fine.

any other media besides soda will stay in little crevices for as long as you own the car. id suggest soda blasting since it is water soluble (dissolves in water). looks like your making good progress on the car tho home skillet.

Ok got a little bit done today, not much because I've been dealing with a friends car that I pretty much had to completely rebuild the harnesses on, but that car runs now, like a champ, without a hitch. So on to what I got done.

Pulled the dash brace out, as well as most of the ducting for the A/C and heat, then made sure the rest of the harness was loose and ready to be pulled once the engine bay is cleared out. Every plug is labeled just in case I go stupid between now and when I put it back together.

Next I needed to do work in the engine bay, but before I did that I wanted to get the front end off the car so it would be easier.

Thats all for now, hope to have the motor out of the car and the engine bay bare by the end of the day tomorrow.

Oh and on a side note, I recently had a new windshield put in the car, and the guy did it so fast that when he glued the small tab on the window for the rear view mirror, he threw the mirror back on in such a hurry the glue wasn't dry, so my mirror is glued to the windshield.
