My window doesn't work. I was told that it needs a motor replacement. I replaced the motor. The window would then come down, but after letting the button go, the window would go right back up again. I was then told that I needed a new Amp on the regulator, and a new master switch.I replaced the Amp and installed the master switch (in the console), and now the window will not move at all. I don't know what else to do. HELP!!!

First, download and RTFSM!

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Q45/

Second, at least find a competent technician if not an Infiniti specialist that knows the G50.

Keith Vanmeter in Mantauk, NJ is the closest independent Senior Infiniti Technician to you.

There is also T-3 in Smyrna, GA. Either is worth a trip if you truly care about your car. Either can tell you what you need to do now and what you need to plan/budget for the future.

You may wanna replace the window module. it's a small black box looking thing once you remove the door panel. Once you take it out, you can remove the plastic housing to see if there's any disconnections which you can simply re-soldier. I had the same thing, my window nor the door lock would work for that one specific door and all I did was to replace that module which I purchased from Ebay. You can also find it a local junk yard.

Good luck

Wow, thanks for that juicy tidbit Q45Dude, I was thinking the same thing with my Q45, both rear doors windows and locks don't operate so I was thinking that was the problem.

Hi Maxnix, this is Greg Tate, the fellow that you left with some good advice in repairing my left side-rear- power window. First, I downloaded and read the thread FSM/Q45. I then took the parts that I had accumulated, which included an amplifier assembly(brand new from one of our (NICO) sponsors in Scottsdale-$100), the left switch from the Master Power Window Control housed in the console ($25 used), and the power window motor that I purchased used ($65). All were Infiniti Q45 (1994) Nissan parts.

I took the parts mentioned with me to the Infiniti Dealership in Baltimore this morning, told them my situation, and asked them to repair my power window. The dealership did a diagnostic on the vehicle, and told me the parts I needed. I had everything they needed!

They installed everything in about one hour, and my final bill from them was $135.00! The diagnostic cost $110. They charged for an hour. I told them that it won't take an hour, because I had already taken the door apart for them, while attempting to fix the power window myself. Anyhow, they included the money I paid for the diagnostic and I only had to add $25to pay the final bill.

Thank you for your help!

Gregory

To the q45 Dude,

Thank you for the advice concerning the small black box that you suspected that I might need. I did need it! It was an Amplifier Assembly. I purchased it from one of the NICO Sponsors for about $100. The Infiniti customer service person that installed it today stated that with the motor replacement and the Amplifier, the window would operate using the rear window passenger switch. However, he stated that if I installed the amplifier and the master switch (left-side), I would be able to use the master switch in the console also. I had both.

Thanks again for your help.
